I was in the area so drove by the site last summer. It's surrounded by a green chainlink fence, no signs that I could detect to tell you what it was all about. It is almost pastural. Lots of wildflowers growing. I understand that real estate just outside the fence is very reasonably priced ....

Where does my DNA go when I die?
by sabastious inwhen i die my consiousness ceases to exist, but the matter that makes me does not cease to exist, it merely changes form.
dna is where all the "data" that makes me is stored, so where does it go when i die?
what smaller parts does it break down to over time?.

Billions of years have already passed for this planet and billions maybe trillions of years are left.
The estimated life expectancy of our sun is another four to five billion years, at which point it will have used up almost all of its hydrogen fuel and begin to fuse helium. It's size will expand by a factor of about 300, engulfing and incinerating the inner planets, including the Earth, destroying all possibility of any form of life whatsoever. But don't be too concerned, in all likelihood the Earth's biosphere will have been destroyed well before that.

The secret of how Christianity spread across the world
by Terry inwhat i am going to say may sound nasty and mean-spirited.
i assure you it is not intended in that tone.. men are power seekers and control freaks.
without using women as drones to do the grunt work of religion.

You won't mind, though, will you, if I have questions... or disagree... as to some of what they opine about... and will engage with me if I bring my... ummmmmm... concerns... up here?
I would be sorely disappointed if you did not have questions, disagree etc. my dear. (But the offer was tongue-in-cheek).

Interesting hypothesis, Terry. I wonder what Freud would have thought of it, given that he admitted not to have had a clue about female psychology. It's the psychology of what you're saying that's intriguing. The Abrahamic religions are unquestionably male dominated and even misogynous, yet women themselves caused them to be successful because they were the least of several evils? You may be right, but I might be more inclined to think that the Abrahamic religions demanded complete and utter submissiveness and compliance of their women and to have done anything less than what you describe above would have been considered defiance against the will of God and would have been severely punished. Is it not more logical to think that women were the willing tools of belief systems invented by men because they didn't have a choice?

I don't think the OP minds, Shelby, having apparently abandoned his thread.
Bored, huh? Maybe you should do some reading to help pass the time. I could recommend some nice nonfiction books by, say, Hitchens or Dawkins or Harris. Let me know.

For non-believers: What evidence would it take for you to believe in 'god'?
by jay88 init all comes down to evidence (but funny how we tend not to accept the evidence that indicates that what be actually believe to be true might be wrong).. this is a statement made by nick in previous thread of his.. >>>>>>>>>>.
if the ot 'god' reappeared today, would that be evidence of 'god'?.

I think the resurrection proof might defeat your statement, PSac. My parents sitting at my dinner table for all the family to see would be pretty convincing. If I saw them and nobody else did, well then you'd have a point.
