Fact is, minimus, that they all did some good in their terms, even Dubya. One of the toughest jobs in the world. That is one job I would not do for any money.

Fascinating conversation. Can a Canadian chime in? I'm gonna anyway.
I clearly remember and can comment on Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and the new guy.
Eisenhower was a great war general but a mediocre president. Kennedy was the first Roman Catholic president and that will be his greatest legacy. I remember when he got popped in Dallas and how TV was ruined for four days. Johnson ("Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?") once held up his hound dog by its ears, just for fun. Viet Nam is his legacy, and that was just plain ugly. Nixon was a foul mouthed crook. Ford was ineffectual and completely out of his league and Ford's first name might just have well been Edsel, because he was a flop, too, particularly for pardoning his predecessor. Carter should have stuck to what he was really good at - growing peanuts - but the man had heart, too much for the job he was elected to do. Reagan was at his best when co-starring with Bonzo and was a bit of a religious kook. Bush 1 ("Read my lips") had the balls to do the job but let his personal pet peeves get in the way. Clinton lied through his teeth, and that is what he will be remembered for. Bush 2 ... c'mon, how did you guys ever elect this man to be your leader? Twice. The new guy has a lot stacked against him and a good chunk of the population hate his guts for whatever reason. Jury's still out on him, though.
Worst in my estimation? Dubya.

or did Adam have the first breeding pair created with him for company or something ?
Better question might be, why did Noah include them in his collection?

Was there a 1974 Franz speech and subsequent coverup?
by Nickolas infor those of us who remember it first hand, the 1975 fiasco is a strong indicator that the watchtower bible and tract society is not what it represents itself to be.
in the late 1970's, after several years of unprecedented growth, the wtbts experienced an exodus of disallusioned thousands which many attribute to the failed 1975 prophesy (see www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/1975.php for details).
the wtbts hierarchy subsequently played down the great disappointment of 1975, blamed its rank and file for having precipitated it, and has successfully swept it under the carpet.

The empty outcome of the non-event of 1975 went unpunished by the Press who missed a golden opportunity to hold the Watchtower's feet to the fire!
It could be the golden opportunity remains, if someone took it upon himself to do a documentary exposé. To repeat myself, technology has changed a great deal since the mid 70's. The internet didn't exist. Whatever it is you and I say on this board, whatever is recorded and becomes part of the public domain, should be considered to be a permanent record, because it will never go away. Back in the 70's there was great potential to cover up information because it was not widely dispersed, but getting caught at it was devastating. Remember the Watergate scandal? It wasn't the fact that a handful of goons broke into the Democratic party headquarters at the Watergate hotel that brought down the president of the United States but the fact that Nixon tried to cover it up. It destroyed him because the act of coverup is itself damning evidence of complicity in wrongdoing. I have read several posts on this board over the past month-and-a-half from people who remember that things were being said about the End Times by the powers that be that were not being committed to print. So, back to my initial question (thank you GMJ) were there recordings of incriminating speeches that no longer exist? Did the WTBTS hierarchy try to cover up 1975?

Yes, indeed, PSacramento. And I also know that there are fake atheists out there, too, who give "just in case", like a kind of insurance policy.
A recently deceased lawyer is waiting impatiently at the gates of Heaven while St. Peter goes over the ledger of the man's life. "Says here", murmurs St. Peter, "that on September 5, 1975 your gave a freezing, starving homeless man a nickel and a dime."
"Yes, indeed I did!" replied the lawyer proudly.
St. Peter turns to the archangel to his right and says. "Gabe, give this guy fifteen cents and tell him to go to hell."

You cannot blame Jesus for the KKK, any more than you can blame atheism for Joseph Stalin or Mao.
Very true. Hate and psychosis are states all onto themselves.
I should clarify that I do not support the abolition of religion. Abolition of anything doesn't work. Witness alcohol and cannabis. What I support is the critical examination and exposure of religion leading to enlightenment and intellectual evolution of our species. (Hmmm. Am I sounding like a zealot?).

Perhaps, PSacramento, the incentive of some religous people is the expectation of eternal reward for their good deeds? In that regard, don't you think the secular givers, who have no expectation of payback, are the real altruists?

Oh Leolaia and bohm. You people are so silly. That's obviously a pregnant coelophysis with babies in its stomach, and everyone knows all that scientific dating stuff is trumped up false beliefs perpetrated by Satan himself. Those fossils are just 4,000 years old. Tops. And didn't you read what doinmypart said? You people are just soooo gullible.

We have one, at least, who implies that all religion should be abolished by saying "religion is ruining mankind".
Two.
