  July 15th WT out - Coming out Swinging at Apostates Hard

  this is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).

  avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.

  (para 7, pg 16).

  From a post a few years back -

  1 Peter 3: 14-15-16. Read all three verses to frame the context of vs. 15 " ...be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."

  Hey, I'm no Fred Franz but this scripture seems pretty easy to understand. Peter starts this letter by reminding everyone of all the fantastic things that this new born faith was promising, the return of Christ, redemption for all, etc. The above verses make perfect sense...

  v14-"A lot of people are going to ridicule you and your strange ideas, they may even persecute you. What should you do?? Don't fret, be calm and unafraid v15-YOU MUST HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING IN YOUR OWN HEART SO YOU CAN LISTEN TO THEIR QUESTIONS AND TRY TO EXPLAIN YOUR BELIEF, ALL IN A SPIRIT OF HUMILITY AND RESPECT. v16- If you have done this to the best of your ability and they still treat you badly, you will shame them by your reasoning in peace and good faith."

  Obviously Peter was referring to hostile, adversarial opponents to the faith. People who made no bones about their opposition to the new belief. He was not talking about people who were just asking nice questions during a free home Bible study.

  So, isn't it revealing that the WTS doctrines are so weak they have to counsel JWs to NOT EVEN LISTEN to those who question their faith. (I picture a five year old with his hands over his ears while he chants, 'blahblahblahblah'.) And if they write down their questions on a piece of paper and hand it to you then you must not even open it. Tear it up and throw it in the garbage.

  Remember 1 Peter 3:15 the next time you answer to door on Saturday AM.

  New simplified Watchtower

  beginning with the july 15th 2011 edition of the watchtower, the society are producing a simplified version of the study copy.. this is apparantly for the many people whose first language is not english, and yet they live in a predominantly englsih speaking county.. the normal study edition will still be produced but it looks like the cong.

  will be able to ask for a supply of the simplified version each month.. this simplified version can be downloaded from the watchtower site.. http://www.jw.org/index.html.

  thanks, leaving, for posting that bit from pg 14. Yes, as you said, it is a 'hoot'. But it is also a chilling example of cult mind control. You cannot trust your own reasoning powers. You are not capable of knowing right and wrong without the org. Everything else is from Satan, even if it seems to be true...etc etc

  May the precious shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ wash away your tears of neglect and the pain of the cold indifference to your plight. I pray that HIS bright light will shine through the gloom and illuminate the path to the loving bosom of the Lamb of God.

  Hope this was catholic enough for you to get into a blood sacrifice groove.

  my dirty fantasies

  when i was a single jw, well, lets say around about my early 20ies, i used to to let my mind flow a bit during the kh meetings.. welll, anyway, i used to observe some of the "older" sisters around their late 30ies or 40ies in their stockings and high heels.

  it really turned me on, i must admit.

  i couldn t concentrate much of the programme due to this.

  So what would be the plan after all this fantasy sticky business is consumated? Suddenly the older sister looks like a nice rump-sprung older lady with tubular teats on their way to the southern hemisphere and big brown eyes to haunt you. Sweet dreams.

  going through an old filing cabinet i found pages from a diary i must of kept when the kids were little .

  the first page was entitled 'funny things the kids say '.

  entry from 1985 : ( our son j*** was 4 and his brother t** one .

  When my grandaughter was in the transition from diaper to potty training she walked by me as I sat in the living room and I asked, "sweetie, did you poop your pants?" Without missing a beat she continued on her way and said over her shoulder, "not yet".

  Terry would appreciate my late Grandmother. We were camping in Yellowstone, everyone except G'ma had gone fishing. As she sat alone reading, a bear ambled into camp and snuffled around. Then, as she watched, the bear picked up a little open box of brown sugar and began to leave. The problem was that inside the box of sugar was one of G'ma's teaspoons. She ran screaming and hollering at the bear who fortunatly dropped the box and ran. She was lucky. The family was stunned when she told us what she had done.

  Elder arrested for stalking

  i just read in the police blog that an elder that went to my former cong was arrested for stalking.

  i knew his family well and he is married to my cousin.

  this elder and his wife had recently shunned me at the grocery store.

  Who's old enough to remember Queen for a Day?

  when i was a kid back in the late 50's / early 60's (yes, i am very old, now let's move on) there was a television program that capitalised on the lives of miserable women.

  it was my mom's favourie.

  each day monday to friday there would be four women on the show, each with a sad story to tell.

  When our little 12" black and white Emerson went 'wonky' Dad would pull out 3 or 4 tubes and we would go the grocery store where they had a tube tester, find the bad one and buy a replacement. Back to Captain Zoom ("remember, 'Zoom' spelled backwards is 'Mooz'!) Or play Red Light- Green Light with Engineer Bill and a glass of milk...
