Sorry, I missed this thread and started another. I had a crush on her and my wife thought it was cute. I wore out a couple of 8 track cassettes.
I recall rolling into a KH parking lot on a Sunday morning as the guest lecturer while listening to her.

NEVER Leave This Place Simply Because Not Everyone Appreciates You!
by minimus inwho cares if a select few appreciate a poster's comments!
a great witty poster who was most informative but got easily riled when his threads/comments didn't get the feedback he expected.
he, for the most part left.. this community is fickle, appreciative, happy, depressed, gifted and not so gifted.

Unless you just don't need the aggravation. I feel that idle time should be spent in some sort of positive way. If a session of political, etc, wrangling leaves you feeling frustrated and angry you shouldn't do it. Read a good book instead.
I feel good when I can contribute something from my experiences as a born-in, elder DF'd for aspostasy. What is the Mission Statement for this site?
Wrangling over politics, etc can be stimulating but if it gets you down, don't do it.

Is this a joke or what?
by slimboyfat ini am reading old awakes!
at the moment from the link that was posted recently and it's pretty surreal.
check out this paragraph on page 16 of the january 8th magazine "what a man!

I recall the Awake publishing old jokes as if they were real incidents. One I recalled reading in the Readers Digest a year or two earlier.
Without writing the whole tedious thing, it was the one about the man hauling bricks up and down with a pulley. It was bascically the script for a Road Runner cartoon but they wrote it as though it had happened to real person. Even then I was somewhat taken aback by the blatant plagiarism.

by usualusername ini was taught at the mts school that no elder has ever broke confidentiality.. .

The thread title indicates an interest in being titillated.
I think titillation is the fuel that drives the human proclivity for gossip.
I have recounted several experiences here that involved nice people who were deeply hurt by their confidences being broken after talking to a trusted elder/friend. Just another example of the Jehovah's Witnesses brand of brotherly "love".

7777 posts and I have decided to --
by moshe ini was thinking (before i go buy my lottery ticket) , i have probably spent at least an hour of my time on this forum for each of those posts and not your typical kiss-me posts that some people love to fill up the forum with, either.-- 7777 hours is a lot of time and i have been reflecting on this almost eight year voyage- has it been worth it?
for me personally, yes it has.
i learned quite a bit about myself and how other people's thinking process works- if i knew what meds some were on, i wouldn't have wasted my time trying to convince them they aren't the messiah-.

I share your feelings about the ways leave your cult (lover).
1. Just jump on the bus, GUS, i.e. "I'm leaving, and here's why..."
2. Make a new plan, STAN, the true fader who says what he wants others to hear, shows up for occasional meetings, i.e.the "fader game"
This has been much discussed and I used to be very blunt in expressing my disdain for the STANs. I was a GUS and paid the price of the clean break and I have never regretted it.
I like you Moshe, hope you continue to pop in. I promise not to make fun of your Fiat 500 ever again.
PS Did you move to Indiana? I thought you were in Fl.

Would you support "Open Carry" legislation in your state?
by Glander inmany states have such laws.
it is being considered in many others.
if legal, would you openly carry a firearm?.

No. I have never been in that situation and hope I never will be. It is not a cowboy movie. It is important to honestly deal with the possibilty. That is why people trained in law enforcement and/or the military have a great advantage in 'carrying' the responsibilty. I can't imagine the average soccer mom being up to a real, unexpected, confrontation. Training is a must for the average person. But it is and should be, their choice. I choose not to carry but I would not be concerned to see more citizens decide to be armed.
