Oh, yeah. I have always regretted that I did not write a DA letter (as AK JEFF did ) I simply told them I didn't not agree with the WT on current rules and interpretations (what they referred to as "The Truth" in 1982.)
So I forced a disfellowshipping.
That was 30 years ago and guess what? 90% of what was the "truth" THEN, is no longer current "LIGHT".

we have held off on revealing our true names, my dad has held off joining jwn and telling his story because we have been waiting for one special event.

Just read your thread opening. I was having a discussion with someone this morning on the very subject you write so well about.
It really is up to us to deal with what life throws at us. Keeping a positive outlook can be very difficult, a battle. But it pays off in our well being, even when we have affirmities. At 67 I enjoy good health but see the decline in certain areas, like sight and hearing. I know these things will get more challenging and new ones will come along but I am going to fight discouragement, I am determined.

i know the question is long, but it has occured to me that there are a lot of newbies here but before that, many ex elders, some co and do's that are no longer jw's.... did the publishers comments at a jc about the misconceptions,dates, and lack of holy spirit, etc.
make sense to you and did you start thinking about the failed prophecies, fudging the "new light" etc.
which caused you to slowly fade away.. .
My JC experiences referred to above involved enforcing then current WT policies which I (and a couple of other elders) didn't personally agree with. One led to a DF'ing of a good person. The other denied a divorce to a person who really should have divorced the mate. In a short time the WT REVERSED itself in a weasel Question from Readers response. No apologies for the impact on people who had been deeply affected and no comfort for the elders who enforced their "old light".

Two JC's in particular I was on eventually added up to other things. The straw that broke the camels' back....
