  Was Your Leaving The Witnesses A Very Gradual Process Or A Quick One?

  for me, it took many years.. even when i would read all the changes over the years from the "truth", i still would ignore it and "wait on jehovah" and try to be a positive force in the congregation.. eventually, i just couldn't take it anymore and resigned as an elder, and slowly but surely made my fade.. what about you?

  Excuse needed to get out of talk

  i work with the school overseer so he'll be with me all day before the meeting...so being 'sick' isn't an option.

  this really isn't like me to weasel my way out of something....but i've been ridiculously depressed lately and honestly i just don't have it in me to do anything let alone put a talk together.

  everytime i do one it takes allot out of me and let's just say the well is pretty dry.

  Is this a student talk of 3 to 5 minutes? Or an instruction talk of 15 mins.? My advice is to get things into a perspective that helps you realize what a small deal it is. The poor folks who will be in the audience don't pay attention anyway. Rough something out and do it. Hell, I could make my grocery list into a student talk. It'll be good for you.

  The Problem With The Organization Exposing Their Former Beliefs To Their Current Ones

  i realize some witnesses will say how wonderful it is that the governing body has put into print how their understanding has changed over the years.. the sheep and goats, the faithful and discreet slave, the evil slave class, etc.

  are all viewed differently then originally understood.. the sad thing is that if you questioned any current understanding, as explained through the watchtower, or if you disagreed with it, you would be disfellowshipped!.

  even if their understanding was totally in error, if anyone ever pointed it out, they were out!.

  Everything that he and Hillary have touched in foriegn relations are worse today than when he took office. Where's the leadership? Where is the diplomatic skill?

  This is turning out to be just as damaging to the US as the mountains of debt incurred and we didn't even get a goddam bridge repaired. Poof!
