The word "Tolerance" doesn't seem to be a part of the Jehovah's Witness lexicon. If 'everybody' was a JW it would mean a society of lock step clones and if there was any free will left it would be a society of snitches and enforcers.

What would the world be like if everybody was a Jehovah Witnesses
by TotallyADD inon the news the other day they showed a young man after graduating from high school went out and got drunk and had a bad car accident.
he was paralyze from the waist down.
instead of going into deep depression of what he did to himself he started his life over and went to college and was involved in inventing a exoskeleton for disable people.

I think it would be strikingly similar to what we see in fundamental Islamic Theocracies today.
PS Outlaw, I personally feel that atrocity photos should not be used to illustrate an opinion unless it is directly about the specific atrocity shown.

Did therapy help you?
by gutted ini am considering going to a therapist.
even though i believe i have gotten better and made some progress (it has been roughly a year since i stopped attending meetings, doing anything jw-wise), i still have a lot of negative self-talk which is hard to overcome, especially during off days like today.. i find the hardest things for me is low self-esteem and social interactions/anxiety.
i'm sure some of you can sympathsize, and though i am not fully blaming my issues soley to my jw upbring (born-in) i know it compounded those issues.. .

Gutted -Frankly, it sounds as though you have taken the first steps in "self-therapy" (the best kind). Self talk, whether negative or positive is the key. Some refer to it as 'prayer'. A therapist gives you a warm body to pour it all out upon, but the ultimate solution is within you.

There used to be a pub in the UK that kept a kettle of soup going for over 100 years by adding water, vegs, etc as it got low. I heard about it years ago, I don't know if it is still going or not.
Outlaw, next time you're over there you should have a bowl.

Home cooking involves small quantities that cool quickly in the frig, heat quickly on the stove. Restaurant food prepared hot and put into a walk in to cool can be dangerous because the 'core' takes a long time to cool. It is recommended to cool large batches of liquid with ice tube inserts before refrigerating.
In the thread description post I still maintain it is safe the next morning. I do it all the time, rather than put a 4 qt pot of hot chicken broth in the frig.
Domestic cooking and institutional cooking have different dynamics for spoilage.
Left over homemade potato salad from the summer picnic is definately right out!

You don't get it Outlaw. Your chart is incomplete without indicating holding time and time for temperature drop from one zone to the other. The biggest cause of restaurant 'flu' is poorly washed fresh produce and or cross contamination with raw poultry, undercooked ground meat, food handlers who don't wash hands. Latex gloves give a false sense of cleanliness and are not replaced often.
Chicken broth is 'sterile" after boiling and unless it is left uncovered while cooling to room temp it is safe. Freezing it from room temp is safe within a few hours. Cooking with it, reheating it to boiling, is OK.
I am HACCP and Serv-Safe certified.
Now, go cold pack some green beans for winter.

I am a fan of many old character actors who show up in the films from the 30's and 40's. Ward Bond, John Qualen, Edward Arnold, Edgar Kennedy, and many more.
Spencer Tracy, Myrna Loy, Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman (yumm), Joan Crawford, Jack Palance, Richard Widmark,

It's called the 'vegetable soup" odor. Unwashed clothes are usually the culprit.
Unpleasant to be around but not as bad as the deadly "dirty ass" smell some people leave behind in the rest room. (Not talking about normal bathroom odor)
