Are black people more emotional than white people
by barry ini see in churches in the states standing up in church dancing, clapping their hands and being quite emotional even in a church.
things which that wouldnt be acceptable in australia.. the link below also shows black sda ministers dressed in clergy style dress which is quite unusual for ministers here in australia.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yynbdm0unsw&feature=g-all&context=g2e791f1faaaaaaaamaas .
could any of my american friends inform me i showed it to my father who is a lay preacher and he was mistified as to what tradition this dress comes from but seems to be concentrated to th eblack community also?.

Yes, Sylvia got back to me and said she had talked to OhioCB.
I don't know if her 'shelter' spot sounds all that good but it is what it is.
She has had her plate full with a family crises on top of everything else. I passed on the above well wishes but I did not press her about coming back on JWN.
Thanks again, Dinah. I hope you get through this freaky weather safely.

Let us join in a BOOK DISCUSSION: The Little Prince
by Terry inthe little prince is sometimes mistakenly viewed as a novel for children.
nothing could be farther from the truth.. it is a deeply personal and somewhat mysterious journey of the mind into the meaning of life, death, beauty and humanity.. i propose that we read this book together one chapter at a time and discuss it.
it repays careful reading sublimely!.

I read "The Little Prince" in the fourth grade. I was about nine or ten. Our teacher, Mr Plotkin, helped make the story come alive and I still remember it today. It was one of those stepstones that opened my mind to the lifelong pleasure and edification of reading good books.
Thanks for bringing back a ggod memory!

Tinnitus - are you afflicted?
by Glander intap a spoon on a crystal goblet - the ringing sound never stops.
sometimes birds also chirp, it is always there.. otc remedies are useless.
mine started with a workplace situation that could have been prevented with simple ear plugs, but in those days nobody knew that extreme noise over a prolonged time could cause aural nerve damage.

Thanks, Blondie. Good info., esp. about having some background noise. But sometimes I just lay in the dark and listen to it. I have learned to accomodate it without going crazy (I think).
PS, R&R let me know if the supplements help. Thanks

I was twenty, working in a plant operating a drop hammer to stamp out light gauge metal. No problems. Then one day we set the hammer to stamp out an order of 1/4" thick, 2" diameter aluminum discs. The first few discs stamped were popping out but not clearing the die so it was very slow going. The solution was to bring in a high pressure air nozzle to blow each disc out of the way after each punch. The high pitched hiss of the air nozzle is what did my ears in. I finished the order over two 8 hour days. By the end of the first day I couldn't hear at all. My hearing came back over the period of about a week, but the ringing has never stopped and yes, it does get worse as you get older. I have lived with it for 46 years. Funny thing is I have pretty good hearing except when there is ambient noise.
