  i just thought you might be interested in the opening remarks of the august 2012 awake!, which has as its headline theme "will violence ever end?".

  page 3 opens with the following statement:.

  I suppose the two articles could have been written for the two audiences as Blondie said. That would be pretty cunning.

  Got my Privileges Removed today, any advice?

  The good old Daily Text. A brief scripture quote followed by a long paragraph of WT interpretation. Great way to start the day in the correct frame of mind.

  I actually loved field service

  that might seem odd, but it really suited my personality.

  even before i became a jw i was annoying people with personal questions.

  the thing is that it's sort of ok in normal land to do that as a cult member, but not as a "normal citizen".. .

  We lived in a medium sized town surrounded by agriculture. The 'rural' territory maps were always in high demand by the smart JWs that knew you could knock off 2 or 3 hours of FS time and only get out of the car twice if you had a carload of fellow publishers taking turns. Meanwhile you could set in the the car and gossip, tell jokes and generally rack up time.

  The suburban tract territories were unpleasant and you could always count on a door or two slammed in your face out of the dozen or so people you woke up on a Saturday morning.

  Tortilla stand outside the convention would be a big hit. Faces of the GB appearing on the tortillas would also signal Armageddon is near.

  Love it! LOL. I can see lines of JWs on a pilgrimage to see the likeness of brother Lett on a scorched tortilla!

  Okay. Steve's post supplied some real background knowledge on this character. And, yes, I agree that anyone who is one of the WT godfathers is responsible for their crimes.

  Sorry, but I just don't see the point in picking over these photos. They are just an ordinary, decent looking couple. The fact that he is a GB member has nothing to do with the photos. Ever see the old black and white film of Hitler playing with his german shepherd . Gee, he looked like a nice chap!

  My question is, Is he one of the sincere ones or one of the deceitful, calculating ones. A follower of the Jaracxz legacy or just a sweet old, go along - get along bro.?

  Kids on Leashes at Conventions.

  did you ever see those parents with kids on leashes at conventions?

  i always disliked it and thought it was wierd/lazy...granted i have never been a parent so maybe i dont know.

  video reminded me how silly/messed up those leashes are.. .

  Never used a leash on any of the kids, although it would have prevented the panic I mentioned above.

  Funny we never thought of a leash, because we were on such a tight budget at the DC that we did put a muzzle on them at mealtimes.
