  san francisco 49'ers vs the red hot seattle seahawks.... i am torn as a 49'er fan and a current 'hawks fan.. vegas is giving sf a 53-47% edge.

  my vote is for the lord of the rings, all three of them.

  or pretty much any star trek movie.

  i tried watching the lor movies today, but my god, it's just battle after battle after battle and frodo, cute guy though he is, wimping out all over the place and having to be carried by everyone.. dull... i have never succeeded in watching those damn movies from beginning to end..

  My wife and I got hyped up on the Lord OTR promos and went to a theatre to see it. It was packed and we sat a little closer than we prefer but we were enthused to see the goddamn thing. YIKES!

  So boring, I leaned over to my wife and said, "are you into this?" she shook her head no, I gave a thumb gesture towards the isle and we exited towards the lobby with the soundtrack booming, for the 10th time "Frodo! Frodo!"

  A lot of fancy kitchen gadgets are simply scaled down versions of commercial kitchen appliances. Home kitchens seldom need the volume and maintenance of automated food prepping equipment. I consider home cooking to be one of the few natural artisan pleasures of life.

  We have a good Oster blender - used mostly for cream soups, milkshakes and special adult beverage occasions. We have an electric coffee grinder.

  We have a manual can opener

  A selection of good knives, potato peelers, whisks, etc. Pots and pans, steamers, etc.

  I used to always have a good butcher block cutting board but I find the plastic cutting sheets handier.

  We love to cook. Especially in the winter.

So I tend to root for Seattle, but I was hoping Romo would snap out of it. Now it's going to be interesting to watch this kid, Russel Wilson.

  this is the latest section of china's high speed rail netweek and the longest high speed rail route in the world, with trains travelling at an average of 300 km/hour.

  I can peel, core and slice a 5 lb bag of apples in about 15 mins. add 2 minutes to dice the slices.

  All with one little paring knife.

  We are not into gadgets. No room for the clutter and a lot of clean-up.

  PS Plastic cutting sheets are a must when prepping.
