although i never met him personally, he and i did correspond a number of times, and i have numerous friends who have not only met him, but stayed several days with he and cynthia at their home.
if nothing else, ray was kind, non-judging, and generous.
I agree with Farkel. They are frauds, and they KNOW they are frauds. Hell- enough R&F are hounded to self-examine their own works, motivations and thoughts etc. Why should the GB be any different? They have access to so much incriminating information and just sit on it.
my father will not leave me alone.
i need your suggestions on what to do.. my father is elderly and his health isn't good.
still, he pioneers.
Just keep responding to his emails with 'can you write to me with your reasoning without the use of ANY passages from Watchtower articles or books. If he eventually gets it, and starts to do research without the WT$ indoctrinated stuff, maybe he'll learn something and come to his senses.
ray franz decided to leave bethel and the governing body because he could not continue to promote or support the lies and half truths that were being told.
do you think that it is possible that one of the new boys might actually grow a pair of balls and stand up for what is true and reject what is false?.
there are so many doctrines that time has annulled.
Another defection from the GB? Are you kidding? They've got plush apartments, free medical, gold-plated cadillacs, special important crowns, caviar for breakfast, cushy jobs, get their sphincters kissed everywhere they go, an army of brainless oompa-lumpas working their printing factory for free, etc....
Why would they leave?

The greatest variance they are setting is (+-) ± 85. However I'm sure most critical stuff I've read is that It's + or - 10% margin of error. Even at that ratio, this site is pretty damn old. I'm not sure if the actual material that is dated makes a difference to the accuracy.
This discovery has been kept pretty low-key for some reason, yet it's one of the most astonishing discoveries in years, and they haven't finished uncovering it by a long shot.
I wonder if the WT$ will ever make reference to this in the future... Perhaps to make a swipe at the accuracy of C14 dating, maybe?

Hey James,
I found this dating stuff on Wikipedia. It's C14. Initially, I thought that maybe the dating was probably off, but they found charcoal fire pits at the lowest levels. Apparently, the whole site was buried or covered over a while after it was made. Don't know if the people maybe thought the place was cursed or something. The place was made using stone and flint tools and blades, and is pre-agrarian society. fascinating!
The PPN A settlement has been dated to ca. 9000 BC. There are remains of smaller houses from the PPN B and a few epipalaeolithic finds as well.
There are a number of radiocarbon dates (presented with one standard deviationerrors and calibrations to BC):
Lab-Number | Date BP | Cal BC | Context |
---|---|---|---|
Ua-19561 | 8430 ± 80 | 7560–7370 | enclosure C |
Ua-19562 | 8960 ± 85 | 8280–7970 | enclosure B |
Hd-20025 | 9452 ± 73 | 9110–8620 | Layer III |
Hd-20036 | 9559 ± 53 | 9130–8800 | Layer III |

The Hd samples are from charcoal in the lowest levels of the site and would date the active phase of occupation. The Ua samples come from pedogeniccarbonate coatings on pillars and only indicate a time after the site was abandoned—the terminus ante quem. [7]
a long-awaited review by professor h. hunger, foremost authority on babylonian astronomical cuneiform tablets, of dr. r. furuli's assyrian, babylonian, and egyptian chronology.
volume ii of assyrian, babylonian, egyptian, and persian chronology compared with the chronology of the bible is now available to read for anyone who is interested.
you can find it at http://goto.glocalnet.net/kf4/reviewhunger.htm.
Heh heh. Furuli gets his bare bottom spanked for trying to discredit the Assyriologists.
WT$' apologist for Loopy chronology over 607.
Damn, but it's a thorough read...

BTTT.
Gobekli Tepe. 11,500 Years old.
Lurkers enjoy.
i'm a long-time lurker (and hopefully successful fader) who finally took the jump and registered on jwd.
thank you all for the great information over the years!.
as you can tell by my username, i'm a big weezer fan.
It's missing an ugly kid teasing a lion, and some Nigerians and colombians in national dress sharing a tasteful theocratic joke, while carrying big baskets of unfeasibly big grapes.
Looks like it's done by the same WT$ crayon monkey, though!
when i look back, i can do so with rose coloured spectacles, but, in truth, i do not like the cult member i was.. o.k , in mitigation i was one of the most liberal jw's in a very liberal congregation, i never did the 100% shunning bit, i found nice seats (not at the very back, and next to their family if poss.
) for the df'd ones after giving them a proper welcome to the k.h for example.. but i still see clearly that my thinking was twisted by those mind controlling bastards who run, and write for ,the wtb$.
i did not trust anybody worldly to any great degree, i believed the "system" would end one day and so i didn't have to contribute anything to it,.. i could go on, but basically i hate all those things about me that were from the cult.. how about you ?
I was a self-righteous arse. Looking down on the poor worldlings who were soon to be birdfood. I hate how I used to sneer at people with other faiths and with different sexual preferences. I now see people as human beings. I especially hated how I was an uncharitable bastard. The first thing I did when I got out was to send £50 worth of toys, sweets, and stationary equipment to orphans in Romania for Xmas. It was something run by the church, and I had no guilt whatsoever for doing it. I now really like to do community and charity work, and regularly donate to real causes, instead of a crackpot publishing corporation.
Got that off me chest....
