I think that some people need that security and comfort that being in an organization can bring... and they need someone to tell them what to do and micromanage their life.

Bible refers to women as "the weaker vessel" - you know why?

because it's a self fullfilling prophecy!.

if you keep women couped up and force them to have only limited contact with the outside world they are going to appear sheltered and unlearned.

therefore when these oppressed women do things that are unlearned or immature all the men go "well they are the weaker vessel.".

This is by no means my feelings, I for one never understood or agreed, with someone being my head or owner. What I mentioned was preconcieved notions as to the roles a man and women is supposed to fulfill. Also the statement about the ideas is what I heard at the meeting, that the final decision is up to the husband to make and even if the wife does not agree she should support him. Which I thought was bull. I do believe in teamwork, and most couple who consider each other to be equal are able to accomplish more, and are happy together.

Well as for me, I am by no means weaker. If anything I think that men are weaker, don't let a man break down because once he does, he is done. A women on different levels is stronger than most men. Men in general are good at working, and providing, while women are good at providing, taking care of the kids, and tieing up the loose ends. Maybe we are considered the weaker vessel because we pretend to take the back seat when it comes to ideas, and taking care of the family,and instead letting the man think that all the credit goes to him. Even though we know that the ideas were orginiallyours to begin with. The saying behind every strong man, there is an even stronger women is true.
