Was it the doctrine or the control that woke you up?
by Evidently Apostate ineven though i knew some of the doctrines were so convoluted they couldnt be genuine, every prophecy mentioned in the bible was simplistic and direct i still felt it was the best place to raise a family.
i felt like i could ignore the hypocrisy, manipulative and fake personalities and still have true friends and unbreakable family bonds.
even though my concience would bother me i would always try to forgive.

What is your purpose and passion ?
by caliber init seems to me that many who leave jw's become very well informed about their former way of life and their desire to change from this life style.
become very sarcastic and cynical , they seem to lack any sure direction or purpose in life.
but for life to have.

I have a lot more angerier at injustice and hope to create a foundation that helps people across the world. I want to be able to put an end to horrors such as poverty and child hunger.

Are you sure leaving the JW religion has made your life better?. Lurkers think twice
by mankkeli inon this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.

Yes I can get invloved in politics and my reading material has grown, and I feel like a weight is taken off my chest. I no longer have to hide the fact that I no longer believe in God. I can fine tune my political views.

An Old Argument.... does it hold water?
by AK - Jeff inestimates range from 4 million to 15 million children die from starvation each year on this planet.
that's between 500 and 1700 children a day, depending on what numbers you accept.
still, no matter which numbers you use, doesn't this make you arrive at one of the following conclusions?.

God is just a figment of our imagation. He never existed and we have to deal with that. If we really depended on God to solve our problems we would all be dead.

I thought he was in Iraq fighting for our freedom?
by Diest inthis is a sad story about an iraq war vet whom is in critical condition after being hit in the head with a projectile that has yet to be identified.
how could he have fought for our freedom in iraq if he was denied his first amendment rights here in the us?
i dont understand why they are coming down so hard on these protests.

This is true. These protests get uglier every day. This country is truly torn.

The world is more at peace. Sure you still have problems such as Genocide in Darfur and the economy and Occupy wallstreet. But things were worse back then. Most here have no idea about the struggles of the Second World war.

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.
