Has anyone, other than me, tried to get your friends/loved ones to prove 1919?

did they really try to prove it to you or did they write you off as hopelessly lost or somewhere in between?
as some of you are aware, i have been trying to get my wife to prove it to me, and if not her, another believing jehovahs witness.

The most convincing way in my mind to disprove the society's stance on 1919 is to ask someone to look at "The Finished Mystery".
I hate to say it, and it may have been brought up on this forum before.
A JW can only go so for in time when it comes to reading WTBS publications.
I have seen members reprimanded(after a meeting) because they quoted from books written by the WTBS that no longer support their current beliefs.

It has been a year since I started school ** an update**
by noni1974 inwell this time last year i was waiting for my first semester at college to start.
i had no idea how i would do in my classes.
my first semester was a complete surprise for me because not only did i do it, but, i did it well ending up on the dean's list with a 3.57 gpa for the semester.

Im Going To Be Disfellowshipped!
by TimothyT inin 6 months, my life has completely changed!.
i have chosen to be gay, i no longer suffer with guilty suicidal feelings, i have the most amazing boyfriend, and my parents and friends accept me for who i am.. i was informed today that a judicial comitee will be formed to disfellowship me.
i dont feel any kind of bitterness or sadness despite the fact that this is all i have known for 20 years and im about to lose some very close friends.. on the contrary, i feel fabulous!!!

Is there a reason to remain a JW other than for family?
by cedars inthis strikes me as an important question.
in my short time on this forum it strikes me that many contributors are quite open about keeping a foot in both camps.
some are apparently even elders, serving in positions of authority within their respective congregations.

Forgive me, if I sound harsh, uncompromising, or unsympathetic. I do not mean to be. But I have seen first hand what happens when evil is passively supported, my friend, and so have you. Both of us have lived in the American South. As an African American, I know how its culture of bigotry and racism directly impacted my family. That culture arose because those who knew better did nothing to oppose it, and passively went along with it. The WTS, in my view, is no better than those racists and bigots were. We must not support it. We must not espouse its views. And when we leave, we must put an ever-widening distance between it and us.

Yep. I had to sit through the meeting,....and I felt like it was degrading to the human race. This stuff can really suck the Dignity out of a person.

by Judge Dread ini was trying to watch this movie with will smith titled "seven pounds".. i got an hour and 15 mins.
in and i just had to turn it off.. what a waste of time.. so what are some or your least favorite movies?
or some you just couldn't finish, they were just so bad?.
