the short answer - yes - if they were both overactively interpreting the phenomena, that is.
I don't want to highjack this thread toward demonic experiences (those which experiencers still think they are such), either as the thread is about sab's video and letting go of burdensome belief systems and seeing the results. So I'm not going to say anything further on the subject of believers' extraordinary experiences.

I've no doubt that you have experienced things that are not simple phobias (although night terrors are not simple phobias) but the important point here is that sab and publishing cult do not experience these things now that they have shed the weight of WTS belief.
likewise I have no fear of unseen spirit forces even if they parked themselves directly in front of me. However if strange things started to happen to me that I could not explain and that was bothering me I would go see a psychiatrist because it would be very likely that my mind was somehow involved in overactively interpreting phenomena.

it is so sad that you guys have had to go through this. A friend of mine has the same sort of night terrors since he was a youngester. The connection with demon stories is so obvious to me now. thanks for sharing this

i'm going to my parents for this long weekend, along with my boys, my aunt and her twin boys (same age as my oldest), and our pup.
will be a busy and bustling weekend, seeing as the basement recently flooded, so that area is now off-limits.
so for the next five days, the four and a half hour drive tomorrow is going to be the only quiet time i think i'm going to get, lol.. however, my mother is going to have a big pot of homemade chili waiting for us... and that alone would be worth the drive and the craziness :).

i have been one to demonize organized religion because i had attached an "enemy tag" to them at some point in my life.
when i started going through the reasons why i consider it an "enemy" i figured something out.. organized religion's are just large dysfunctional groups.
my family is a smaller dysfunctional group and i worked for a business that was also just a small dysfunctional group.

when I look inside myself I see huge vats of intention, but I know that most of this is down to the outside world calling to me to try something new. If this is spirituality then not only does it incorporate physicality and ego but exists both inside and outside. But if traditionalists(organized religion, family) say sprituality contains nothing fleshly, nothing ambitious then I feel hamstrung. Ambition and ego exist in nature. Whilst a calm peaceful scene may engender serenity a wild destructive scene depicts nature working against herself - all of this we also find within
so in the main I agree with you Sab - just clarifying what sprituality must include for me

| I believe that being involved with an organized religion (not a cult) can be good for a lot of people, IF they never lose sight of the fact that they do not NEED the religion. Use religion to enhance your own lifestyle (family friends, holiday events, etc) Don't get caught up with the 'you need to be saved!' God-hype. |

i am catching up on this july 15th study watchtower everyone is talking about.
it's perhaps a bit more intense in its vitriol than has been published in the watchtower in a long while (since the early 1980s apostate witch hunt) but it's stuff we've all heard before, even down to comparing apostasy to an illness and calling apostates mentally diseased.. but the phrase that stuck out for me was this:.

I don't recall hearing that phrase either slim but in answer to your question I have to admit that I did love the organization like jehovah himself.
A phrase I heard at the memorail that I hadn't heard before was in connection with visitors being told to speak to the attendants if they had any questions, the speaker then said "a qualified witness will be asked to answer your questions".
went and saw atlas shrugged part 1 at the rave theater here in little rock friday night.
i was surprised it showed here since it had such a limited showing.. anyway i was really surprised at how well it was done on such a limited budget and a very tight and short schedule to have the whole picture done and it really followed the book very well.
i went to the 7:15 showing and the theater was packed but but not sold out.

we are being careful and this seems to be working. Making small cut backs here and there. We now have a taste london card which quite a few restaurants are happy to accept on certain days of the week - for every meal you buy you get one free
