Tell me, if God is just an empty word, what exactly are you
talking about?

I can prove that God does not exist.
by LucidSky injust thinking.... i can believe that a higher intelligence entity (hie) cannot be proven.
i am willing to accept that a hie cannot even be definitively induced, even for marvels that we cannot demonstrate at this time (e.g.
natural transformation of elements into living material).

In "Revelation Its Grand Climax At Hand!" on page 36 we read:
"In the songbook produced by Jehovah's people in 1905, there were twice as many songs praising Jesus as there were songs praising Jehovah God. In their 1928 songbook, the number of songs extolling Jesus was about the same as the number extolling Jehovah. But in the latest songbook of 1984, Jehovah is honored by four times as many songs as is Jesus. This is in harmony with Jesus' own words: 'The Father is greater than I am.' (John 14:28). Love for Jehovah must be preeminent, accompanied by deep love for Jesus and appreciation of his precious sacrifice and office as God's High Priest and King."But where does it say that we must love Jehovah more than we love Jesus? As a matter of fact the very John 14 that they quote also says in verses 21 and 23: "He that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me. In turn he that loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will plainly show myself to him." "If anyone loves me, he will observe my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our abode with him."
Seems to me that in order to get the Father's love, we must first love Jesus and not the other way around as the W.T. insinuates. -

$300,000,000 - Percentage YOU Would Donate To WTS?
by Derrick inyou buy a state lottery ticket with a motherlode of a jackpot similar to one in california recently.. lo and behold you alone win the $300,000,000.. before and after the next meeting you share your joy with the brothers and sisters.
some are naturally curious to know what percentage you plan on donating to the world wide preaching work and local congregation?.
how do you respond?.

The Brooklyn Vatican has enough real estate! It already has its own empire. I would give to
health organizations, charities, homeless shelters, etc. (all those groups the Society discourages us from donating to). Whatever was
left I would spend on my family and me. -

Bible Error: Peter Denies Knowing Jesus
by JosephAlward inin the dialogue below, jesus scoffs at peters claim that he will give his life for jesus.
he tells peter that before the sun comes up in the morning--before the rooster crows--peter would that very night pretend he did not even know jesus.. .
readers should note especially that in the john passage below, jesus is predicting that the rooster would not crow until after peter has denied knowing jesus three times.. .

For years I kept everything I could find on Jws., from old publications, to dissident Bible Student literature and
apostate works and anti-Witness materials by Catholics & Protestants, etc. When I moved here I couldn't carry it all with me, so I
decided to give it to the local university. I have no idea if
it was kept or discarded. It's been 13 years and I haven't returned
to check it out. -

Jesus was a False Prophet
by JosephAlward inas he sat upon mount of olives, jesus was telling his disciples about the end of the world and what they could expect just before that apocalyptic event.
they asked him, .
"when shall these things be?

Joseph writes: "...we probably should assume that Matthew was not telling the literal truth in this story..."
Fair enough. So what do you propose is the message underlying this story?

Alward writes: "Now since Matthew wasn't there at the transfiguration, don't you think it is more likely that this story
is flawed, and that Peter didn't really use the names "Elijah" and "Moses" when he spoke to Jesus, rather than believe that this story is literally true, even through it is obviously second-hand? Which is more likely the case, do you think?"Actually the writer of Matthew doesn't tell us whether Peter was his source or someone else. Nor does he tell us when or how Peter knew
it was Moses and Elijah. Is it literal? Perhaps it is literal that Jesus, Peter, James and John went up a mountain. What did they actually see? Did they physically see Moses and Elijah? Or did they have a vision? I don't know. But Matt. 17:8, 9 says: "And when the disciples raised their eyes, they saw no one else but Jesus
alone...Do not tell the vision to anyone..." -

Dedicated to Atheism and Enlightened Rationalism
by gravedancer inhttp://www.geocities.com/kindextremist/frameslow.htm .
does anyone know if this is an xjw site?
-

Gravedancer,
I just checked out the site. In bold caption appears "If
you believe in religion you have been deceived." Definitely an antagonistic forum against all religions. It was amusing to read the "Hate/fan mail received." Be sure to read all the entries and then determine who really hates. Are these intellectual epithets or venon? Gives atheists a bad name--in my opinion. -
