There is no justification for driving without a license. And as a result of this accident (is it accurate to call it manslaughter?) he probably never will be issued one.

by messenger inhttp://www.thisistrafford.co.uk/trafford/stretford__urmston/news/stretford__urmston_news1.html
jehovah's witness died after crash injuries.
a jehovah's witness whose legs were crushed in a road accident caused when an ice cream man from stretford dropped his cigarettes died after refusing a blood transfusion, a court heard on tuesday.. margaret mccracken, 57, was trapped between her camper van and a parked car that was shunted backwards when it was hit by the ice cream van.. both her legs were smashed and one had to be amputated but mrs mccracken refused a blood transfusion because of her religious beliefs and died two days later.. at manchester crown court the ice cream salesman, himat singh, who was working for his family business despite never holding a driving licence, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and was jailed for two years.. his 48-year-old father, balbir singh, was in the dock with him because he falsely claimed he was driving at the time of the tragedy.. balbir singh was jailed for four months when he pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.. himat singh was told by judge anthony ensor that bending down to pick up cigarettes while driving was a case of gross criminal negligence.

JW Beliefs of Yesteryear
by Double Edge inin janh's brillant post today: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=31893&site=3 .
he mentioned that the jw's use to believe in the rapture of the saints, a belief commonly held by some mainstream christian sects.
i started to wonder "why and when did they change that belief" and "what other beliefs were held by jw's that were held by other christians, but have now completely changed?

Vulgar
by truthseeker1 ini've got a question.... vulgar comes from lating vulgate (sp?
) which means common, correct?
vulgar words like sh*t, fu*k, co*k, c*nt, ect are just terms used by the common people.

All those "forbidden" words can be found in the dictionary, albeit now considered by most to be offensive. Who, I wonder, decided that it is o.k. to use words like feces or excrement, penis, vagina, etc.? Did the English language have its own "Emily Post," that is to say one who determined what words are considered polite and what words are not?

If one reads "The Complete Program of the Congress (The history of 'The True Faith of Jehovah's Witnesses'), there is no doubt that this is a dissident group, which considers itself true to Jehovah, while the Watchtower Society and its adherents are called false Witnesses. The former group has not taken instruction or advice from Brooklyn since 1962. During the Communist regime they went underground, continued to win converts, without Watchtower supervision. With the fall of Communism, they still refused to fall under the Brooklyn banner because they disagreed with some of the "new light." In a Resolution adopted in 1992 is the very interesting Article 4: "The spurious and his lawless working is indentified with the actual work of the Watchtower Society of Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A., which has fallen prey to a political-religious conspiracy."

What Is Wrong With The WT's Dateline Response?
by stevieb1 ini have been following the wt/pedophile issue with interest and below is the wts response presumably to the dateline programme.
they seem to present a reasonable response to what was presented on the show, but are they hiding anything?
at psalm 144:15 we read: "happy is the people whose god is jehovah!

Did anyone notice the timing of the letter? It's 4 days before Dateline (which they know is about to air). Itsn't that just perfect?

It Wasn't All Bad (smile)
by Frenchy inthe congregation i belong to is small and most of its territory is in the rurals.
there is one territory in particular that is some distance from the hall and so it does not get worked as often as the closer ones.
then he said: "i cant talk to you people, you dont believe in hell" .

Bien merci, monsieur Frenchy. Est-ce que vous vivez dans la paroisse Avoyelles ou Rapides? Je pense que vous etes pres de Alexandria. Moi, comme je vous deja dit, j'habit en la Floride.
Bonne raconte.

Do you care that you offend JW's?
by wholewheat inthis is a sincere question.
do you worry about offending active witnesses?
-
Kenneson
For years Jws besmirched people of other faiths with their famous slogan: "Religion is a snare and a racket." Even after that slogan lost its popularity they still insisted that anyone in another faith is a member of Babylon the Great and only fodder for the birds at Armageddon. Also, look at how the W.T. Society uses the term "apostate" in a derisive manner, when speaking of those who leave and question their authority. Of course, non Jws should not feel offended. But if the shoe is on the other foot, they cry offense.
