What One Elder Is Saying About Dateline

i recieved this email today i thought you might find it interesting.. dear bill: i have a question for you.

at book study last week, the conductor said that dateline's web site apologized for their show on jehovah's witnesses pedophiles because they had learned that the people interviewed on the show were "not who they claimed to be.

" i tried to find dateline's web site to see what they said but i was unable to do so.

Well, now someone will have to come up with another story for Panorama, won't he? And once Panorama starts to fade out, I wonder what the next country will be that brings the light to the public? And how will they explain that one?

the jehovah's witnesses organisation keeps a sex offenders register that nobody outside the church is allowed to see, a former "elder" tells panorama.

bill bowen, who has spent his lifetime as a jehovah's witness and over twenty years as an elder, says the organisation covers up abuse by keeping this database secret.

Notice this interesting comment: "When asked by Panorama about the number of suspected paedophiles on the database, Paul Gillies from the Jehovah's Witness Office of Public Information in the U.K. said: 'It is not meaningful to focus on the number of names we have in the records."

Wonder if these words will come to haunt the W.T.? They do know the numbers of paedophiles in the organization--and they do keep records. Why is it not meaningful to focus on the numbers? Does that mean that it is not a problem? Wishful thinking!

The pre-coverage to the Panorama program is quite thorough. Should be an indication that it will be equal to Dateline or even better??? Wonder what country will be next to go public? If it keeps happening, sooner or later the W.T. will have to take note. Denial only goes so far.

i personally think ct russel was an ego maniac.

i mean common to think you are the faithful and discrete slave that guy must have been wayyyyyyy out there, he must have surrounded himself with those that could feed his ego.. they literally worshipped the ground he walked on.

what a psycho, and what a bunch of assholes that followed him.

U K ELDER JAILED 2 YRS, TODAY

bbc central news have reported that james barrat , an elder in rugby congregation has received a two year sentence for abusing two teenage boys over a ten year period.. the abuse took place at bible studies .. the judge called him an "arch hypocrite".

the police said he is "extremely dangerous" and one of the victims , now in early 20's,gave an interview and said "do not bother with the elders, go straight to the police

How much longer before the Watchtower Society acknowledges it has a problem? The Catholics couldn't hide it forever and neither will they. It's better to confess ones failures and fix the problem than lose credibility.

it seems that uk jws are talking about panorama...a lot.

i approached jws i know with the simple question "so i suppose people are talking about panorama?".

the response is generally one with no surprise, no fear, basically no problem at all!
