  the u.s. supreme court ruled last month that an ohio village could not require religious proselytizers and political canvassers to obtain a municipal permit before they took to the streets.. in an 8-1 decision, in the case of watchtower bible and tract society vs. village of stratton, the high court held that applying the village's licensing ordinance to such activities violated constitutional protections of free speech.. the most curious aspect of the supreme court's ruling in stratton was a brief concurring opinion authored by justice antonin scalia.

  On the contrary, Col. depicts Christ as image ( see also 2 Cor. 4:4) of the invisible God (John 1:18).He is pre-eminent and supreme as God's agent in the creation of all things, including angels (Col. 1:16 and John 1:3). He is prior to all things (Col. 1:17 and Heb. 1:3) Firstborn of creation doesn't mean Jesus was the first creature made by the Father. It means he is the heir of all creation. All things were created for him (Col. 1:16) and in him all things hold together (Col. 1:17) See also Heb. 1:2.

  Jesus is not the Father, but he is the perfect revelation of the Father. That is why he could say: "No man can come to the Father but by me...He who has seen me has seen the Father." (John 14:6-9) And yet, "No man can come to me (Jesus) unless the Father, who sent me, draws him." (John 6:44) Jesus mirrors, reflects or images the Father. He makes the Father known. (John 6:46) That's the type of unity between the two. They are different persons yet they are interdependent. "He that hates me hates my Father." (John 15:23) You can't have one without the other. In other words, if you want to know who the Father is look at Jesus. He is in the Father and the Father is in him. And no one comes to the Father but through him. All must "honor the Son just as they honor the Father." (John 5:23)

  Who Here Believes in God?

  personally, i do not believe god ever has or ever will exist.

  i have my reasons -- i guess i could be considered an agnostic, rather than an athiest.

  i was curious to see what the larger part of the former borg community believed, now looking from the outside in, rather than the opposite.

  The Trinity is the teaching that there is only one God. This one God exists as three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, but one God. Each is a separate person, yet each is, in essence, divine in nature. Think of this analogy. Time consists of three aspects, yet there are not three "times," but only one. The past is not the present and the present is not the future. While each is separate, each shares the same nature or essence. In a similar way, the trinity is three separate persons who share the same nature.

  The Bible says that Jesus, the second person of the Trinity, is God in the flesh, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:1,14), and, "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form" (Col. 2:9). Jesus, therefore, has two natures. He is both God and man.

  If Jesus is not the Creator, why does John 1:3 say of the Word that "All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.?" Vs. 10: "...the world came into existence through him..."

  As a man, Jesus had limitations.He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52) Nor did he know the day or hour of his return (Matt. 24:36)He was tempted (Matt. 4:1). He prayed to the Father (John 17:1). He died (Rom. 5:8)

  As God, Jesus knew all things (John 21:17). He was sinless (1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15). He is prayed to (Acts 7:59; 1 Cor. 1:2). He gives eternal life (John 20:28)

  Phil. 2:5-8 best explains the seeming dichotomy between the Divine and human Jesus: "Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross."

  Jws Convert Indians, Pope Wants Them Back

  it seems that the pope is concerned about the efforts of evangelicals to convert catholic indians and mexicans.

  he wants them to return to the fold.

  one catholic lady by the name of reyes said that "many townspeople have left the catholic church to become jehovah's witnesses.

  It seems that the Pope is concerned about the efforts of Evangelicals to convert Catholic Indians and Mexicans. He wants them to return to the fold. One Catholic lady by the name of Reyes said that "many townspeople have left the Catholic Church to become Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't know how, but those Jehovah folks convince people really fast," she said. "Catholics need to talk the people more, explain things. They need to be more patient." See the Washington Post:
