I wrote a letter along with a photo copy of the Awake! May 2009, page 11 and a copy of Dr. Michael Jursa's article regarding a finding at the British Museum. The WTBT$ wrote me back and said the British Museum's date of 587 BC is wrong and that 607 BC is correct regarding Jerusalem's being sacked by Nebuchadnezzer ll. The WT$ will not admit they are wrong.

Thinking of writing a letter
by ranmac inforgive me if this has been touched on many times before.. i was wondering if anyone has actually written the society requesting their response/justifications to the many discrepencies and flaws in their doctrine and history, such as failed/altered dates and prophesies, pyramidology, beth sarim, lack of transparency, economic and political ties to the world, how they no more than archeologists, biblical contradictions, etc, etc..... if so, what was their response?.

The WTBT$ will not receive a penny of our money after hearing that talk. Our children could benefit our money and estate, ect.

what flipflops caused you to think?
by cheerios inwhile posting on another thread, i thought of this.
for me, it was the "we never said you couldn't go to college" flipflop in the mid 1990s.
when ofc we all know that to be an utter lie.. now that i think about it, their literature is written with future flipflopping mind.

For me it was the the Generation definition changes but before that the 1975 failed prediction caused me to start doubting the WT$.

Zechariah 8:11,12 - Jehovah announces the 70-years ended?
by GOrwell inhi folks,.
i've been reading into the zechariah scriptures (zech 1:7, zech 1:12, 7:1-5 etc) about when the 70-year desolation period ended, but i couldn't seem to find much about zechariah 8:11, 12. chapter 8 continues where chapter 7 left off (chapter 8 mentions that jehovah "continued" to speak), so the time frame is the same as in the beginning of chapter 7 (4th year of darius, around november 518).
for some reason, this scripture clicked :.

I found out that if you take the 70 years mentioned in Zechariah 1:12 and add those 70 years to the dates that the book of Zechariah was written 520-518 BC you get 588/590 BC minus regnal years, etc. = 588/587 BC = Jerusalem's Destruction.

I attended a circuit assembly today and the Theme: "You Are No Part of the World". Afternoon Symposium: Do Not Be Contaminated By...
"The Wild Beast"; "The Great Harlot"; "The Traveling Merchants". I was thinking about the DPI/NGO registration forms being filled out yearly for 8 years by GB members. And Sunday Symposium will be: Love Jehovah, Not the World - Communicate With Jehovah; Talk About Jehovah; Imitate Jehovah and Live for Jehovah. I don't see any talks about Jesus. I was wondering why? Preaching is being pushed hard.
