I wish the WT$ study articles were worded in 1st person. I can only imagine rank & file members getting up and walking out after. That would be a wake up call. lol

How the WT would look if written in 1st person: SO DISGUSTING
by Antioch inhow would the watchtower of july 15th read if the watchtower was written in 1st person from the ones allegedly preparing an dispensing spiritual food (ie the watchtower)?
why is it written by a faceless 3rd person telling readers what to think about the people who are allegedly dispensing the very material i'm reading?
i was reading the july 15th article and laughed at the ridiculousness of it all.. .

Watching Amish Shunned on PBS...very deja vu if you are/were a JW!
by tenyearsafter inthis is a very interesting documentary...the similarities are so close, you could substitute jw for amish!

I watched it today. I noticed high control in their religion. I also thought about their method of transportation. Still living in the horse and buggy days.

OMFG Dinosaurs and Noah
by konceptual99 injust fell off my chair whilst listening to the bible "highlights".
someone has actually just said that the flood account actually helps inform scientists on matters that perplex them.
for example for decades they have wondered how the dinosaurs all disappeared but if they looked at the account of the flood then they would see the answer.

Think about it. Living in a big boat for 40 days and 40 nights cleaning up after animals. How does a person get any sleep? I could never do it. The more I think about it the crazier it gets.

2014 DC: Fewer, but larger venues in the U.S.
by doinmypart inin the u.s. there are fewer venues this year, but they will be held in larger facilities.
as long as i can remember my family travelled no more than 2 hours to attend and in the last few years the dc was local (within a few minutes travel).
this year my family is driving 6 hours to a major u.s. city.

Con-vention! lol Lois. A new word. After having local DC's held at kingdom halls, we have been told we are back in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Hotel rates are $89.00 to $119.00 per day. Add gasoline, meals, tips and taxes and our vacation comes to about $500.00. A vacation sitting in a stadium for three boring days.

I would like to know also. I think the all powerful GB in NYC claim they are not inspired but are spirit directed.

Why do so many think JW Religion is a Cult? (NO APOSTATES PLEASE)

I 'm still involved with the Watchtower and I think it is due to the disfellowshipping and shunning policy of the WTS that it a cult. It is all about control over the rank & file members.

I agree that Jesus should be king not God. The Watchtower continues to confuse us with their ongoing propaganda.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses keep track of field service hours?
by Faithful Witness ini understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?

If you are not towing the line you will be contacted by two high controlling elders. It's that guilt trip and fear method. I don't think Jesus required time slips from his followers.

Planning your RETIREMENT. Can anyone remember Watch Tower encouraging, in anyway, it's members to plan ahead for this eventual reality?
by LoisLane looking for Superman ini cannot think of one article written for jehovah's witnesses that deals with this important issue.. your retirement.. .
the governing body makes sure everyone looks after the gb's needs.
the gb will be moving to their new lakeside estate in 3 years.. what about everyone else below the 8 gb and their wives???.

I have never read any WT$ article that encouraged planning for retirement. After the 1975 flop I decide to take on my own retirement portfolio and same with my wife. The WT$ only wants your money but have no interest in your financial security.
