i'd like to share a story i recieved in an email once.

i cannot locate it so i'm not sure if it is exactly the way it was written, but i'm sure it's pretty close.

if anyone knows the writer of this please let me know, i would surely appreciate it.. there was once a man who was a great artist.

i don't know if this was discussed here before, but, what is the most ignorant comment you ever heard an elder say.

i once had an elder say to me that my brother, who was at the time fighting in vietnam will be destroyed and killed over in 'nam because he did not accept "jehovah"!!!!

i promptly told him to go "f" himself.

i apologize for harping on the same theme; however, i feel that at this juncture we need to step up the heat.

merely talking amongst ourselves is not going to achieve too much.

the un/wts issue, together with silentlambs and ajwrb, presents, in my view, the greatest opportunity in a long time for getting results.

from what i understand the wtbts is not affiliated with the un but the dpi (department of public information).

i will not release his name at this point because i was asked not to by the individual who gave me the contact information.

well i finally got the guts to tell my mother that i had enlisted in the army.

she didn't say a whole lot to me, but she did tell my sister she was calling the elders and that when i was df'd she would have nothing to do with me.

i can't say that it suprises me too much, but i was hoping for more of an adult reaction.

i am currently involved in a relationship for the last year and a half with a man that i found out about 2 months ago is a jehovahs witness (and i am catholic).

the only reason why i found this out, was that i was pushing the issue as to why his parents do not know that i exist.

this really irritated me since he has a very close relationship with his parents.

LET'S MAKE A LITTLE WAGER

perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.

as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.
