My son and I enjoy watchng Charlie Browns Christmas. I think I used all the Charlie Brown Holiday movies to educate him on what the holidays are. They also educated me too!

First Christmas

this year, i have decided that i am going to celebrate the christmas season in my own way.

even as a witness growing up, the two-month period of november and december had always been my favorite time of year.

Decorating for Christmas starts right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The last float on the parade is Santa Claus and when you see him its time for decorating!

Turkey Dinner for Thanksgiving. Ham Dinner for Christmas.

The month of December usually entails DECORATING, DECORATING, and MORE DECORATING.

We have a parade in our town during Christmas. We stand by, drinking hot apple cider and enjoy the Christmas parade.

Going door to door to recruit members doesn't work

when you look at all the hours they do going door to door world wide and then you look at how many hours preaching it takes to bring just 1 person to their organization, it's not efficient.. my mom goes to a baptist church now, and i was surprised to know that 500 go to that meeting on sundays and they don't go door to door to go get these people.. there might be 80 witnesses at my hall and going door to door doesn't make much of a difference.

maybe it's even counter productive since people don't like being pested at home..

Also they measure their numbers of PEAK publishers, who only now have to record 15 minutes a month to be included as a active witness.

We have been finding that the growth is not so much in the English speaking American JW congregations, but more so in countries with not much education. Someone wrote me from Romania saying the bible studies are on a waiting list. Where here in America people are leaving the congregations in droves. Also here in Arizona, the Spanish Speaking congregations are starting to outnumber the engish speaking ones. My sister (the Super JW) moved to Brazil to learn portuguese so she can go back to her home state in Ma. to help and attend a portuguses speaking congregation. I'm sorry if I refer to the Spanish speaking or Portuguese speaking people as uneducated. I dont want to offend anyone. But these are the facts that I'm seeing.

This is why Jehovah's Witnesses are no better than any other religion. There's lots of religions who also think that their's is the golden ticket into God's Kingdom. Mormons believe you have to be a Mormon. Catholics believe you have to be a Catholic. Jehovah's Witnesses believe you have to be a Jehovah's Witness ect., ect. They are all the same in a way that they use this Crime and Punishment psycology on us. (ie.) If we are not (enter your religion here) god will destroy us.
