  I am now officially an Ex-JW!!!!

  i am now officially by being announced at congregation level that i am no longer one of jehovahs wihtnesses.

  that news spread like wild fire and i was dropped by all jw's on facebook, which shows the level of control the borg has in this area.

  what is interesting is there was no juducial committee.

  Where to Worship???

  i haven't been to a meeting in years but always thought about going back.

  i can't go back now that i realize that i was raised in a cult.

  i can't go to church because i have been brainwashed that it's false religion.

  I am sorry you feel the need to go anywhere to worship. There is no God so you are worshipping the air, unless it is a Catholic Church in which case you will bow down to a piece of wood which represents the imaginary God. Think of it this way, the truth has set you free and so why put yourself in another religion's bondage. Or you can go the route of AGuest and invent your own.

  i would say that that would be impossible...given that jesus christ is simply an angelic being in wts eyes.. jehovah's witnesses have about as much a relationship with the angel gabriel as they do with jesus.. and, no...tacking on the name of jesus at the end of a prayer is not evidence of relationship..

  As I understood it the reason the JW's say Jesus used different physical forms was not only because they say he was a spirit. It is also an attempt to reconcile the Bible showing no one recognized him, even his closest associates.

  One very possible reason of course could just be it was another person pretending to be the raised Jesus.

  Since you lied (even if it was to get him to own up) that demonstrates that a person's word alone is not enough and it should never be enough. Even in the divorce courts you would need to provide more proof than a pair of panties in a bag if he is denying it. A person is deemed innocent until proven guilty even in matters of adultery.

  That does not mean you have to catch him in the act, but it does mean there needs to be a lot of circumstantial evidence.

  Christmas - why do so many celebrate Jesus, and so few celebrate religion?

  having been out for around 2 years now, i've been pondering the universal popularity of christmas (jesus) as compared to the general unpopularity of (sectarian) religion.. my thinking on the unpopularity of religion is based on passive and low "church" attendance, where the only ones who actively and unreservedly promote and celebrate religion are those that are part of the ruling religious hierarchy which satisfies their lust for power, authority and glory.. do most of us at some level get it that jesus was/is anti-religion and that is why the religious establishment and leaders had/have him killed off (matt 23 esp v15)?.

  your thoughts and perspective on this will be much appreciated and a big help in my research (sociology of spirituality, sociology of religion).. .

  Christmas has nothing to do with Christ for most people. That includes me. I certainly challenge the topic headline because the majority worldwide who will celebrate Xmas will not be celebrating Christ at all.

  If my child was abused I would need to be held back from beating the sh$% out of the abuser. I would certainly go to the police. What's wrong with these people?

  drahcir yarrum why did you mention he was black and you were white? It had nothing to do with your story. It was about an accusation that you smoked. Drawing attention to his color and yours makes me think you need to re-evaluate whether you have race issues.

  " Now me being white and rooming with a black also gave me an attitude that I was going to be a real diversity champion as well." - Seems to me you are praising yourself here when in fact you have a racist attitude really.

  I love the way Tec dismisses the claims of others but automatically accepts the same ridiculous claim that Christ was born of a virgin.

  I don't think Jesus was invented in that he probably did exist, but I do think certain aspects were added afterwards and attributed to him. The virgin birth being one of them. What exists today is an exaggerated version, a embelleshed biography. Of course he never really walked on water, he was a man like any other. Do I expect Tec and others to agree? Nope, they would deny the existence of their own noses if it contradicted their religious fantasy.
