Okay,I have been there and believe me it wasn't easy. You're "happily married" in the truth. Husband's an elder (coordinator these days), and long story short, boom! you suspect he's cheating - could he actually be having an affair. Who even has time? But all the signals were there. Coming home late, not being where he says he's going, oh yeah and a pair of ladies panties in his work bag. Anyway of course he denies it. God forbid he should admit to it and be taken off the stage at meetings, assemblies, etc. So like a dutiful witness wife of over 30 plus years, I plead with him to confess so we can move on with going to the brothers, and move on with our lives as a married couple in the truth. So what if he is no longer big man on campus - at least we still have our marriage. Not so easy folks. He denies it! The tell tale signs increase. Phone hang-ups, him pulling away, the whole bit. So I go to the elders for advice. Surprisingly, he again denied even the slightest inappropriate involvement with anyone. The elders either didn't believe, or didn't want to believe my husband was doing somebody on his job. "You have to have proof sis". PROOF??? You mean like him kissing her and stuff? "No sis, proof of him committing the actual act" " You mean as actually seeing them doing it?" Were they serious. Adultery Don't get me wrong, I lied and told him he gave me VD. So he had to admit to doing it. Please tell me where is found in the Bible folks that adultery must involve actual penetration and that it must be proven in order to obtain grounds for a scriptual divorce. Isn't my word enough? Afterall, shouldn't the truthfulness of such a charge be held for a time when we're judged on the basis of our acts. If a mate lies about such conduct, he/she should be left to Jesus at the appropriate time.
Where in the BIble does it say Adultery Must involve Penetration?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry it's because of your husbands infidelity. If you are a popular elder you have to get caught in the act. Several here have been DF'd just on heresay. Stick around for awhile.....you will be shocked what you learn about the JW religion. I'm a former elder.

I believe you can also commit it in the heart!

According to Jesus, just THINKING about adultery is the same as doing it, although I doubt that anyone is ever d/f'd for thinking about it.

Welcome Brenda. Well it's even more convoluted than that! There has to be "fornication" which isn't necessarily penetration, but pretty much unless you get to read the elder's manual, who knows what all they classify as fornication? I mean we know some of the things, but the rules and legal speak are long and convoluted. The other option is stalking him until he decides to spend an ENTIRE night with a woman, but you have to be there when he walks in, and stay there the entire time, and witness him walking out---and you have to have one other stalker with you. That's what some people have to do when they can't get a "spiritual" divorce---stalk.
Yet that doesn't always work either! I know someone who saw a woman move in with her ex, and he simply claimed she was a renter.
In these cases, I have found that it seems much easier for a man to prove his "scriptural" divorce than it is for a woman. Hmph.
Five years after my husband walked out I was not "scripturally" free. I was in my twenties, I hadn't ended my marriage, I couldn't date or move on with my life, I couldn't bring myself to ask the ex if he was having sex with any other women, because I felt it was not my business and it wasn't, and I couldn't bring myself to stalk him.
Welcome again----and like Think About It said, stick around. You will be surprised how little these different BOE's speak in "agreement".

Welcome BrendaRob ... Witnesses are a united people all over the world ... what does it say when the ultimate reason behind that unity is because people are afraid to talk about the differences and injustices that really exist
(Proverbs 20:10) 10 Two sorts of weights and two sorts of e′phah measures-they are both of them together something detestable to Jehovah.

Howdy BrendaRob welcome to the first day of the rest of your life!
Take a look at the Appendix of "Keep yourself in God's Love" book pornia covers just about anything and everything. i consulted this to find what least i had to do to be scriptually free to remarry.Had to do what i had to do.
Hire a PI for some real evidence on him, the Elders are told to investigate matters, so can you sister.

Welcome Randomhuman. Yes, Jesus did say that.....but, what is important to JW's is the spin that the WTS puts onto the rules that govern JW sex lives.

By JW standards, that sounds really fishy. I've known JW elders to get in trouble simply for dancing with someone other than their wife --even when the social situation called for it. (i.e. At a wedding)
Try calling their information desk at Patterson and see if they agree with these yahoo Elders. I very much doubt if they will.
