When I was 'reaching out' I was even told to use a straightedge ruler rather than underline freehand and to avoid using red ink....and I was so eager to please I even did for a while...

Did you fake underlining the WT?
by shepherd ini read on another topic " i remember when i used to carry microphones years ago in the jw cult- only about 30 % had their wt's pre-studied, the rest just wing it i truly believe" and it reminded me that people will assume you are not familiar with the material if you have not underlined, and that there will always be those who observe the lack of ink and consider you must be unprepared (and so 'weaker' than them).. many times i used to fake prestudy just for that reason.
its easy to do, underline a random sentence or 2 in each paragraph or the sited scripture.
you can wizz through an entire article in 3 minutes....did anyone else do that?.

"the more colors=the strongest faith" - Yes, this was my point - your spirituality was judged on whether you used to deface the article with ink as a memory aid, when the answers were so obvious why would anyone need to underline any of it?
I used to find it funny to see entire paragraphs underlined......haha

Yes, it can be ordered for free, if you are on good terms with the one ordering. You may be asked if you have made a 'contribution' (even though it is supposed to be a private matter). People can ask what they want, it does not mean anyone will pay it.

JW's And The Abuse Of Children...

of being involved w/ the organization i have witnessed a many pyhsical abuse.and i even have been to a many different halls, in which i saw the same abuse on children.the last thing that had made me leave was a case of childabuse, in which no elders nor any one did anything to help these poor children, so i reported them and the children were taken from the home that day, the husband went to jail then prision for a probation violation by hurting the children.the little one of age 5 was punched in the face, then kicked down a flight of stairs..this was it for me, after reporting this, i left the organization and never looked back..how sad, when people just stood by and watched this happen, even an elder's wife, and no one did anything to help these poor children.and the beatings i witnessed in the bathrooms was just awful.after my research of this dangerous cult, and then the beatings of the children was enough for me to take my 5 year old daughter and myself out of this dangerous organization and never look back.
yes, we lost a many frineds, but i still keep in contact w/ some of my jw"s friends who sneek over at times to visit me..i sure pray that god will helo them escape this dangerous organization before its too late..

The problem is it is in the Bible so they feel justified. They also think that if the State bans spanking they are entitled to ignore that because God's laws override those of the State. If they got arrested for it they would think it was persecution from Satan which PROVES they must be in the right.....any religion (since not only JW's think like this) that thinks the Bible is a higher authority than anything else is dangerous.

As for Meatloaf, it was probably because he used the word Hell and the covers were deemed 'demonic'. Or maybe because of his stand against shunning your family - I would do anything for love, but I won't do that! :)

The question 'where else is there to go?' has different meanings for different people. Some mean 'what is the true religion?', some mean 'where can I find new friends?' so before anwering it's important to know what the questioner means. In answer to 'which one is the true religion?' it is equally important to consider if there is such a thing in the first place.
