The Honeymoon Stage...well kind of
by mrsjones5 ini'm keeping my distance from my parents but i keep running into my mother around town.
yesterday it was at walmart, a couple of weeks ago it was at the mall.
both times my husband was not acknowledged (basically shunned), hubby says its a weird feeling but he's ok with not having to talk to my mother.. i call my mother every couple of weeks or so and the last time i spoke to her (about two days before walmart) she said that she wished we could go shopping or go to lunch together.

Punk of nice: I loved that picture of the WT.
I'm trying to find a way to print it, and put it in my study.

November KM do not upset the branch with with your relatives or friends trying to get them to become JW's.
by life is to short ini just thought that the question box of the november km was strange the way it was worded.
i tried to scan it but could not get it to come up so i will type it out.. ("who should fill out coupons and internet requests?.
our publications often contain coupons that can be filled out and sent to the branch office to request literature or a visit from jehovah's witnesses.

OK, I only did that once, and it wasn't a Soc publication. It was a Playboy, subscrition.
It wasn't one of my family members, it was for someone at Bethel.
I'm really sorry about that.

Hi Mrs Jones, I may be able to speak for your mom, since I have a dissassociated daughter who left her abusive husband for peace. I've heard so many stories from the platform, about DF/DA family not letting their JW parents visit with the grandchildren , and making them out to be demons.
We actually, are making this work. Our daughter does allow us to visit our grandchild, and we tell others that our daughter is not a demon. In fact the majority in the congregation sympathize with her situation. There are many unhappy wives, in our congregation that will tell you that they made the wrong decisions with not leaving their mates. Now these ones are older, and they have assets, and fear that keeps them in that bad union,
My daughter is happy, she is free from abuse, and enjoys her life so much more. She knows that we love her, and we would never want to pressure her. We don't talk spiritually with her, which is fine. However, the Soc. has gotten really angry of such relationships and now they are spinning the Necessary Business around as if they never printed it in the first place.
That shunning is horrible. That awful claim that they will die at Armaggedon is awful.
I don't see this practice ending any time soon. There are some new laws coming into effect that address hatred, and abuse, and misstreatment of certain individuals, or groups that are different. This may be the saving power that will address this disparity.

Thanks for you experience LITS. You are right about these phantom pioneers. They do exist. I have seen them, and their reports. When I pioneered in a large city, I hitched hiked, and took buses. I couldn't afford a car. Still I recorded the time accurately. Those were the days of 100 hrs per month. There were other pioneers in my congregation, but I never ran into them. I was fortunate to have 5 BS during the month that kept me encoraged. I kept it up for 5 years. The only time I worked with someone was on the Weekend, when I supported the group. Of course I wouldn't encourage hitch hiking today. It was different in those days.
