"we need to help that brother"
by TimeBandit inat the last district convention i went to (2010) i was sitting in my seat during the lunch break.
i was listening to two brothers sitting together chatting in the row in front of me.
they were talking about brother 'so and so'.

As Don Henley said it, "Get over it".
Sorry ....that was just some tough love.
Life is so complicated today, and people do neglect the ones they love because they are caught in this rat race world.
Time Bandit, get a wife. Love her and she will love you back. She will become your best friend and encourage you when you are down. You don't need those stinkin brothers.

I know of many HR exec's in the faith. Not all of them have any involvement with religious customs, and employee engagement doesn't have to be about that. Canada likes to endorse a neutral attitude towards diversity and one with acceptance of all cultures, race, and shall I say sexual orientation. That being said, it doesn't mean that you have to involve yourself in all of these differences, but you have to come accross as if you accept anyone regardless of their differences. You are also to be respected for your views as well. In other words, if you were a Mormon, and didn't drink coffee, and coffee was served in a morning meeting, you have the right to decline drinking coffee, but you may want to take another beverage, instead. Many JW's execs have mastered their dealings in workforce around these differences.
Toasting is also a rough experience when you are attending a function...99 % of the world feel that this is alright. But, today, you can dismiss yourself from this custom in being open about your beliefs, and this should be accepted. It doesn't have to be a big drama. It's feels strange to isolate yourself from this participation but doing so will make many respect you for being loyal to who you really are.
A good HR exec doesn't give into peer pressure, gossip, slander, and fear of men. You will go very far if you prove yourself in this way.

My baby has a friend!
by mrsjones5 init's hard for my youngest son joshua to make and keep friends because his autism gets in the way.
there's this neighbor boy who lives across the way who's asked to be josh's friend.
it's been so cool.

When someone connects to another and overlooks the difference...that is true kindness.
Good for you, Mrs Jones, and keep up the good work in Joshua.

Words that were ok to use as a witness
by jamesmahon inthis follows on from the other thread on michael jackson and an earlier one this morning.
sufficiently different to start a new thread i thought though.. on the mj thread i had a bit of a poke at glander and used a load of anti-gay terms.
what i thought was interesting was that they were all terms that i used to use as a witness.

Ten Years From Now .......
by Phizzy inwhat with the very low baptism rate, many leaving, many waking up and staying in for now, but not "zealous" any more, the wt/jw religion/scam is without doubt moribund.. i do not foresee a sudden end to the wt but what will it look llike in ten years time ??.
the late teens/early twenty year olds of today will i think be very thin on the ground as 30 year old jw's, so my view is that in ten years time it will be mainly old hardcore ones ,50 yr old and up, and even they will be aware that the org.
is dying..

The Governing Body will consist of dam filthy Apes.
There will be a shortage of brothers to marry, for those faithful sisters, so Cloning will now be accepted from baptized brothers.
CO's will have a 401 K plan (age factor getting closer to retirement)
Anyone playing hooky on family worship night will be disassociated.
Downsizing of branches
Sisters will be allowed to wear pant suits....no slits near the ankle though....no Leulemon allowed.
Bible studies can be conducted by texting someone on your smart pnone....demonstrations on Service Meeting to be a reality
Baptism is allowed for children in Kindergarden...if kids are toilet trained, they are responsible to make those important decisions.
Another change in the generation theory
Microphone carriers will be retired, and replaced with robots....that will become vicious and turn against mankind.
There will be a societies week course for trustees, to really drill the point about paying the society.
Pioneers will rebelled about the cost of living and camp outside the existing branches and protest.

I know that the Canadian Children's Aid Society don't take the two witness rule over this child abuse. They don't fool around with sexual offenders.
The WTS is so concerned with hiding their dirty laundry. What a shame, on them. It's always concealing the lie.
The generation thing ( oh no they were not wrong, they just needed new light)
The 607 date (Oh no, this is the anquor year, we can't correct it, let's keep saying it's true, and the Archeologist are wrong)
Look at the pedophiles in the Catholic Church (Oh, oh....we got them too? Keep that under wraps, eh)

Is the 10 Hour Per Month Requirement Still In Force?
by Conan The Barbarian inare there any active elders/ms or higher out there who can advise if one of the requirements for appointment is that the person's fs time is equal to or greater than either the congregation's average or the national average?
this used to be the case, but may have been relaxed.
also is the branch still approving appointments?
