Well, some of those who are single, are single for a good reason. I wouldn't invite anyone to marry some of these people. I have found some of these single people to be users, complainers, and failures. They just bring you down. Some of them.

Now the lesson in the Jerimiah book. I believe that the command given to Jerimiah 7, states that he wasn't to procure a wife, of have sons or daughters in this place. So what did Jeremiah do when he left Jerusalem? The Bible doesn't say. Jerimiah may have married in his old age. We don't know. Just like Paul, we don't know if he was married, yet, he advised against it. When I read the kind of man Paul was, I don't think I would feel comfortable in inviting him over, too.

yb: I didn't lose your point in the first illustration. I was just commenting on the way things are done in fire drills today. I seem to digress alot during my senior years. The answer to the latest illustration is of course obvious. You would save the one drowning upon first noticing the crisis.

Prayer on the other hand has had some beneficial effect in my life, and the lives of others that I know of. You need to have faith in your prayers. I don't want to make this a long thread about what prayer is.

Mankind is in a world of time and unforseen circumstances, and disasters affect each and everyone of us. One thing we are sure of is, we will live through many tribulations while we live before God's Kingdom has come, and God's will is done for our planet. We are not immune to disasters, just help to cope with them.

I know we never asked to be born into this crazy, and unfair world, but we are all part of a divine plan. There is a bigger picture to see, and our individual tribulations have to be endured. No miracles should be expected.

i want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.

i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.

i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

yb: I was a appointed Fire Captain for the organization I worked for in our Bldg. The handicapped went to a room that was safe on the floor that I had to evacuate first. Then the volunteers would assist the handicapped down a safe route. That was the drill.

Well, your illustration about the fire is modern. Today if you are in a bldg that is on fire you have to look after yourself. So does that guy in the wheelchair. It is the responsibily of the fireman to rescue any handy capped people.
