  Yet another JW child abuse cover-up in the UK news...

  bradford pedophile massimo capazzo was disfellowshipped for grooming and abusing two young boys, but the elders never told the police.. he was only prosecuted after turning himself in.. not surprisingly, both victims now need professional help and wrestle with "feelings of worthlessness and guilt.".

  That she did, but, the clergy, just told her she was heading towards, damnation.

  Now, years have past, and questions of my own have surfaced

  Who really is to blame for the marriage breakdowns?

  another young couple has bit the dust, in our congregation.

  that's close to 20.. we'll probably hear a special needs talk, and of course the couple will be counselled to get back together, and they are not scripturally free to marry.. comments will be made that it's is the fault of the younger ones, today.

  apparently younger ones are selfish, but, are they?.

  Yes, S&R, you're right. we do hope that it never happens to us. It really, is frustration to see the WT try to fix something that is broken in the case where two have already called it, quits. I can understand going and receiving some marriage counselling, but, sometimes these counsellors would decide in favor of a separation. It's not a decision that should be made litely.

  Experience regarding Elders being spirit appointed

  i was told recently about a situation where an elder did not get recommended to serve upon moving to a new hall.

  i think he left for a job.

  but, something internal politics happened in the old hall and he was not recommended.

  The appt is made by the body of Elders, and endorsed by the CO. If the question was asked," if some would be offended if this brother was reappointed", then, this brother must have some history that is negative. That question rarely comes up for the appointment of servants.

  Spirit appointed, means in this case that the body of Elders have prayed over the matter, asking for HS to enable them in making this decision.

  I am familiar of two cases where new Elders moved into our congregation with some baggage from the cong that they came from, and the new BOE are still waiting, and it still has been over two yrs, waiting. The congregation are tottally confused, and are blaming the BOE about how strict they are, but, they are unaware of the problems.

  When the appt is sent to the Soc, the Soc rubber stamps the page, and sends it back with a Yay, or Nay. If it is sent back with a Nay, it ususually is because the FS hrs do not meet the average standard. The soc. are giving the average hrs of the appt's on that report.

  I'll put my two cents here as well.

  Not to long ago, the Toronto Star wrote an article about ...Not too sure about his name...Gunther Samuelson(Maybe). Anyways , he was a history professor, and he had proven that the death of Jesus didn't occur on the cross. I think that we may have started a thread about that some time, ago.

  Er...thanks, friends. For your comments. It got side tracked abit, but the topic is back on tract.

  We did have some failed marriages that I witnessed in the 70's. I think that those were cases of the couples not really knowing who the other person was. The society didn't recommend long engagements, back then.

  Your comment about compromise and forgiveness is well taken, Lois.

  Think about the 50's. Was it easy to separate then? Not really. The thinking back in those days made it difficult for women to free themselves from an abusive state. People worried about what their community thought. It still was considered not acceptable for an interational marriage. We have come a long way. Today, men and women are free, and empowered to make decisions, and to change things if things are not working right.

  It's the times thathave changed. Women are financially better equipped to look after themselves, and to not live in fear of any man.

  I consider this progress.

  Fear will not restore a marriage (at least not keep the marriage happy). The society have burdened families today that may have contributed to the break-up.

  Thanks, Terry, for the research.

  Of course the ORG will always say that the light keeps on getting brighter, and brighter, so that is the reason for change. What gets to me is the way reality is twisted, when the News Department makes a statement on this matter.

  I hope this procedure gets changed in my lifetime.

  yeah, i know they'll bury our bodies or cart them off to be burned, but then the earth will become paradise and then what??

  The GB, or, FDS won't be around to influence mankind.

  Great surprise will overcome the survivors to see that the ones they had judged not worthy to survive, have survived.

  Men will start a Tie Burning party. Women will wear pant suits. After the Tie Burning ceremony party, there will be a Auxilliary Pioneer Application burning party.

  Full-time Pioneers will now know what it means to have a fulltime job in the restoration work.

  No more Circuit/District assemblies.

  Underground groups will set up the illegal meat trade, until the thousand years have past, then be destroyed.
