JWs left about 10 Minutes Ago
by ABibleStudent ini'm visiting my brother and his family in virginia for thanksgiving.
as i was looking out the kitchen window today, saturday, waiting for my sister-in-law to finish talking with my niece on the phone, i noticed an older couple in thick coats going to different houses in the cul-de-sac.
as i was watching the older couple and thinking about what i would do if they rang the door where i was and if they were jws, the door rang.. at the door were two older african-american women.

There's something to be said about getting yourself a good Hollywood Agent. He'll make sure that your acting gig will be respected.

Well, aren't you guys a cheery lot. C'mon now. Don't you enjoy pizza party's?. I could do that over and over. What about watching the Super Bowl?
The WT doesn't have the Monopoly on Ever Lasting life. They can't even give you any information about it. Just new scrolls opened, and 1,000 year rule etc.
Open up your imagination, the are all those planets that we can explore. Lots of things to do. Somethings I can do over and over.

Question for believers.
by zound inthis thread is not to try and prove which position is true or false, but i wanted to ask a question to believers.
i'll prelude the question with some examples.. jw's think that their message is true and benificial to others - therefore they knock on doors and informal witness etc.
i think it's safe to say most on this forum agree it is not true and it is in fact harmful (particularly to children) perhaps harmful in ways that the jw is not in a position to appreciate because of his/her warped perspective on things.. on the other hand - if their message was true, and armageddon is coming etc etc, then you could argue that them preaching this stuff is not harmful (actually its morally ambiguous but nevermind that for the time being) because the ends justifies the means - it all comes out in the wash etc.. in turn if mormons message was false then we can agree they are misleading, lying, wasting peoples precious time and lives and ultimately harming children and susceptable people by spreading it.

Hope is a powerful thing, false or real. A lot of people held on to their hopes whether it was to fight desease, waiting to be rescued, reading diet books/magazines, giving 2nd chances on things such as relationships. Mankind wants to beleive and have faith. I guess the answer is a disappointment if the effort was based on false foundations. But, mankind still needs to hope in something, until something better comes along. Do you know of anything better?

Well I'm not a fan of knocking at the doors.
If the message helps a person to kick a nasty addiction, gives hope, improves lives, then what's the harm?

Hi QCF, and I want to say that being open about your Bipolar condition is very courageos. Your condition is not known by many members of the JW faith and they will not show you any understanding, or, empathy because of ignorance.
I understand it, and I know what you are experiencing. I have a close family member who suffers this. When it became more evident that this condition existed, things went alot better. I understand that you will experience extreme feelings of happiness, followed by long periods of sadness, and tiredness. Good for you that you have a husband that understands, and cares for you.
Billy is right. You can't move around to try and locate another congregation that may be better. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. With your condition you have got to learn the art of forgiveness. Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness, That's what my freind Don Henley said.
Don't try and get the approval of this group.
Believe that there is a Creator that cares for you, and that you are trying to etablish a relationship with him and not imperfect people.

Well I would probably have tried all of those Kama Sutra positions, but maybe some of those positions will get me destroyed after 1,000 years.

Gayle is right. We need this exposure to show how cruel the WT Soc takes this missunderstood Christian practice.
The Soc takes this practice too far, and really encroach on the rights of family members.
Good for you, Rebecca for offering support.

Sorry, I was away and needed to catch up.
I will comment about the one Co that I know but, do not want to use his name. I remember attending an Elders school over ten years ago when the Soc initiated this Pioneer Assist program. This special program was designed to help the inactive ones. When news broke out about this program the inactive ones in our KH's didn't want others to know that they were inacitive, so they refused this help from the start. It was definetely doomed from the start. But, this Italian CO lied to the Circuit. He stated that it was a program to help some who needed help with Bible studies, RV's, and presentations. He has also lied about other things that have created so much grief amoung the brothers. He is not honest when he talks to you, and he is an organization man first, and will lie and tell you what he thinks you want to hear, but stab you in the back.
Kinda fits in with a mob mentality. No one in our family likes him.
