Yes, we had it read at our Service Meeting. It will be expensive, and it will not be a vacation. The GB wants you to participate in a campaign of field ministry. They want to blitz certain sections of that land. I know that Russell went to the Jews and had a special campaign to recruit them. But wait, he wasn't part of the FDS....I'm confused.

Sleep Paralysis - YOUR EXPERIENCES
by Black Man inso what have been your experiences with sleep paralysis?
any connection to astral projection?
this has interested me recently as i used to have sleep paralysis quite often years ago.

Whoa...Talesin. That's too scary for me. My sleep paralysis experience involved my willingness to wake up early to deliver those dam newspapers in a paper route I had in Montreal. I sort of transitioned into a Zombie as the route somehow managed to get done.

Well, I watched it, and nothing mentioned about Basic Pioneering as was confirmed by others. An interesting point was picked up in Losch's interview talk with experienced elderly ones. A comment a sister made was she heard an announcement that week, during lunch, at Bethel, about Bethelites being invited to attend Pioneer school. She felt this to be good, because when she pioneered years ago, there was no Pioneer school.
The Basic Pioneer (10 hrs a month) may still be a reality, but it was announced somewhere else than the AGM

One Day assembly in Arizona- $17,000 !!
by AndDontCallMeShirley ini heard from a reliable source that a one-day assembly in arizona last weekend had a "cost" to the publishers of $17,000.. predictably, the elders were nice enough to obligate the attendees to a $6,000 donation to wt before the assembly "costs" (i.e.
"rent/extortion) were even met.
$11,000 rent plus $6000 in extra "donations".

Why doesn't the GB make field service optional for certain congregation members only similar to the Mormons?
by yadda yadda 2 inephesians 4:11 makes for a strong case that not every member of the congregation should have to go door-to-door.. "so christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,..".
this shows that different members of the first century congregations served different ministerial functions.
so why don't the jw's say that field service is no longer compulsory for all congregation members, only for those who feel a calling for it per eph 4:11..... the mormons sort of do this with their young men and women 'elders' doing 2 years voluntary, genuinely full-time service (these mormons boys put in some big hours 6 days a week and have their meals provided for them, etc!

By George, you've got it, "The rain in Spain, doesn't stop Field Service in the Plains"

Yes they are working on this right now. They are implementing a new pioneer arrangement and the new category of "Basic Pioneer" (10 hrs a month) is being developed. If this is successful, they will have "Basic Publishers" that don't go out at all. The objective is not to have any inactive. By eliminating the word, inactive, out of the JW vocabulary, and replacing it with another word would work. Then everyone wins, and the Mormons will want to become one of us.

Is This ALL the Society Meant By Big Stuff Coming?
by millie210 inok, internet tv, some new songs and updates on a couple obscure prophecies no one cares about.... .
i for one was so disappointed at the smallness of it.
i guess i bought the hype that when they said "big", they meant it.. .

What do you expec from old guys that dance on the Bethel table when they discover there is Blueberries in their oatmeal. The GB perception of Big Stuff is not some ordinary person expects. They are in a different world all of their own.
