The older marriages survive, because they started out in the 50's that held the view that the man brings in the bacon, and the wife stays in the kitchen and cooks, and shuts up. The man rules, but he can send his wife a flower to make up for his imperfections.

Newer marriages don't follow that 50's rule..Both are working, both cook and work in the kitchen. Both are pressured to have a regular share in FS.

Get 1o hrs a month average in FS time, and presto...your husband is an Elder, or MS. It doesn't matter if you have no experience in life, or can't counsel...it's the perception that counts.

The older marriages should have terminated, but it wasn't viewed as positive, as it is today.

The drama is the society's attempt to fix this problem. Funny thing, the families that broke down in my congregation had nothing to do with unbaptised, and baptised individuals. Many pioneered, many served as Elders, many had positions. Some had higher learning, some had low education.

I don't think that it's about the sex. It's about the working on it principle. It takes two to make it work.

does anybody know the jw reasoning why using mind-altering depression and schizophrenia medication are okay but marijuana is not?

okay i could see saying not to use marijuana because it is currently illegal in the us but what if it were legal?

there are lots of health benefits for marijuana.

yes thats my situation.

some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?

the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

My take on this WT is that the GB has failed to motivate it's members to produce hours. It seems that they are so desparate in using this Bible Illustration as a guilt trip. It was so blown out of proportion to carry that thought.

Once, at work, we had an abusive spouse threaten his wife who was trying to leave him because of his abuse. We had to call 911 about the incident. There was a restraining order against this person too.

Sadly, this happens everwhere. Bullies, abusers, the world is filled with them.

Hope this poor person gets freedom from this abuse.
