Well they do distract, but are necessary. I know someone in our car group doesn't have any concept on time and would make the car group wait hours before she figured it out. Sending her a text is milder, than knocking on that person's door with a unhappy face.

I love their steamed hotdogs, their poutine, the Montreal Smokemeat, and bagels.
Steven Harper just pledge some money for they infrastruture in Levi, Quebec.
I think they might repent, and stay with us. But, then again we are living in the last days. You know what that means for Quebec

Does the KH have WiFi, and is it only exclusive for Elders?

Actually you can have a data plan with the cell phone co. that you have a contract with. My Iphone allows me to have this available on my trips and in different countries. But, I didn't want to purchase this on the Ipad. The Ipad is really not convienient to take with you everywhere.
The Ipad does work with WiFi ie. MacDonalds, Starbucks, Airports, transit etc.
If the publishers are paying for the Wifi service at the KH, why would it be exclusive to elders?

Old People Should Hurry Up and Die - says the New Japanese Finance Minister
by fulltimestudent inthe newish japanese government is conservative in bent, and its finance minister recently raised eyebrows with the above statement.
japan, as you may know, is a rapidly aging society as the long falling birthrate bites into the demographics.. here's how the english guardian reports this tale:.
let elderly people 'hurry up and die', says japanese ministertaro aso says he would refuse end-of-life care and would 'feel bad' knowing treatment was paid for by government.

Public Talk today!
by MinisterAmos ini attended the meeting today, and i just wanted to share my observation of whaty i consider to be part of the hypocrisy inherant to all organized religion.
one of the things i hate most about the jws is the way they point fingers at others while calling them "worldly" or "not christians" while quietly doing the same thing that they accuse everyone else of.. one of the local elders gave the talk about forgiveness to relate with today's study topic.
one of the scriptures he quoted and emphasized was psalms 15:5 which, paraphrased, asks and answers the question: "o lord, who shall sojourn in your vtent?

The thought about not charging interest was in the day when inflation wasn't an issue. Think about it, if you lended $1,000.00 to somebody, and at the end of the year the inflation rate was 2%, are you really getting back what you lended if the borrower only gave you back that amount? Your money has depreciated by 2%. So there was a time that the Society gave Mortgage loans that reflected the inflation rate to the congregations. Today, the inflation rate is really minimal, so no interest is being charged on the mortgages.
If you just left your money in the bank without any interest, you would lose it's value. Inflation is a menace.

Necessary family business
by stillin inthat seems almost redundant to me.
isn't all family business important and necessary?
having a meal with your grown, disfellowshipped child seems to me necessary part of having raised a decent, family-values sort of child.
-

Necessary family business is not a biblical term, and neither is 'Disfellowship'.
It's just a mental warfare strategy that the Admin Class of the WT soc is trying to use. "Shunning" is I suppose another word for it.
Shunning is used in the Med field, Legal field, and many religious org's worldwide. Mind you, it's not as extreme as the Muslim faith does, but it is a form of bullying. The Wt Soc go extreme in putting a wall between the family members.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 01-27-2013 (FORGIVE ANOTHER)
by blondie inforgiving one another.
why must we be willing to forgive?.
paragraph 18 = 0. .

Thanks, Blondie.
As Don Henley said, " It's about forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness......"
Something that the WT seems short of particularly with their treatment of DF'd ones.
