Hello BOTH,
First of all let me say that I saw that video and although it was wrong for those Elders to not let you apply Mtt 5, and 18, I also wondered about the legallity of video taping of that conversation, and then putting it on YouTube. In our country, legally, you cannot tape someone without their knowledge, and acceptance. But, we know that we are always being taped in public places today. Such establishments do so on the premise that it's for security. Still, you have to wonder about those elders and their privacy. In the video, you and your wife, had concealed your faces, but their they were in full view. We only heard your voices, but those guys, wow what an exposure.
I did enjoy your responses and how eloquent your responses were, however, there maybe something much more bigger that could happen than the application of Mtt 5, and 18, and the purchase of a tractor. I don't know the law in the US, but, let's hope that everyone who were involved with this matter can sleep nights.

Mormons getting hollowed out: The tipping point has occurred.
by Qcmbr inever since mitt romney turned the spotlight on the lds church a growing tsunami of disaffection has been accelerated and brought to a head.. the lds core faithful members are leaving in increasing numbers such that growth has not simply stagnated in the west but it has actively reversed.
to their credit the church is responding aggressively but not only is it too late, it is an impossible task.
you can only paint sh*t so many ways.

My neighbours next door to me were Mormons. I really didn't know this, and they never revealed this to me, It was later when two Mormon Elders came to my house, and told us about them. They also mentioned that they were inactive. Since then I always wondered what Mormons have to do to become inactive. They only do missionary service for two years. Does their inactivity have something to do about their tithing?

marrying younger spouses
by ssn587 inmy wife passed away 2 years ago we had been married over 30 years, i have since remarried and my new wife is younger than 3 of my children from my first marriage.
i just wondering if there are any more like me out there.
i stay in excellent shape for my age, work out almost daily eat good and have absolutely no medical problems or at least none i can do anything about, bad knees, but my vitals are excellent, and i am known as the teenage because of them when i have my yearly medical checkup.. so was wondering if there are others out there like me, and what some may think about it, just for the record i am extremely happy once again, and we have a 18 month boy who delights me, have a whole new outlook on fatherhood and child raising.

I was shocked recently when I went to a congregation BarBQue, and noticed this odd couple. A older women in her 7o's, married a young pioneer in his 20's. She was a widow, and developed an interest in this young man who was her tenant. I guess being free from paying rent has it's advantages. But something was missing. there was no romance, no holding hands, no laughter, no honeymoon. Maybe, that would have made the guests sick. She was inactive and he was a regular pioneer. Do you think that their are some hidden agendas in this one?

A very good video, but once the Elders find out, it may get censored. I appreciated the counter arguments from the brother and sister.
This shows just how judgmental the cong can be. The elders, although sincere, needed this humbling experience of talking to someone that were intelligent. I did appreciate the comment of one Elder who stated that some new matters were brought to his attention that he didn't think of before. He was showing concern for the family at the end. It was a good Awake magazine that was the Ace that the couple had up their sleeve.
Thanks for posting this

Going to the territory you live in - in your area?
by A question inhow emphasized was it to go to the congregation that you lived in the territory of?
how many did so?.

A KM did address this matter. It stated that each individual must decide based on circumstances, which congregation to attend. But, if there are no good circumstances, then they will emphasize that you go to the one you are assigned to. Some congregations in Canada are so packed that they give you the option to go to another one. I don't exactly remember where that KM is.
Servants who don't go to where they are assigned, will be dealt with, and you may not receive any privilledges, if you attend an unaasigned cong.

Well, it's true, we can't judge, and there is that love and respect that you have working for each other. Keep working out...it's keeping you young.
