i heard that there is an elder in each congregation that follows very closely what is being said from stage to make sure everything is being said correctly.
in all my years as a jw , i don't ever remember this at the local level.
is this something new?
This sucks. You would think that after your years of experience in giving talks that they would have confidence in your abilities enough to allow you the decency and dignity that you deserve.
Knowing that you are under the microscope only makes you too alert and you miss the naturalness of the speaker.
Too much Micromanagement.
i didn't go to the agm nor was i invited .i didn't go to the sunday meeting either.i received a text though from a long standing ministerial servant that echoes the sentiment in my congragation at least.he was present at the meeting.no elder was there and all parts ,watchtower and public talk were handled by ministerial servants.he was incensed that he was not invited allthough he's been a servant for many years and always volunteered at the assemblies etc.
the absense of all these elders was very noticable .most of the congragation was uninformed for the "dog & ponny show" (sorry agm) and the reason i think was that they were embarrased to admit that only they were going to go.but the most upsetting thing for many is that only the ones that went to the agm got the new bible ,the rest will have to wait till january when the first supply arrives at the congragation.
also many have found out that the instruction is that the new bible has to be used from the congragation straight away at the meetings and field service .imagine the embarrasment to be sitting next to the in crowd with their new flashy bible !.
We got our new Bibles which was a total surprise to me. I expected that only those at Stanley Theatre would receive their personal copy. Then as the attendants were passing the Bibles, there was a pause, and we sang a song, then resumed sitting listening to the announcements that the Bethel family would have theirs delivered to their Rooms. This is when the local Attendants appeared with boxes and distributed them to our crowd. We had to hide them, though as we left, so that the next group wouldn't be aware of the surprise. It was a well kept secret.

some of this will not be new to those of you who read other people's notes, but i bet there are a few new bits for you here, so i've provided a user-friendly table of contents, as an homage to the contents that appear before each book of the bible in the new nwt.
i might remember more highlights later, as i'm rather tired right now, but this is what i can recall off the top of my head.. contents (use of quote marks in this section is facetious; these are not actual quotes).

as an ms all i have been told to do is to arrive early to "await further instruction due to the sensitive nature of my assignment".
ironically all i can imagine after hearing that a few times is dispensing cyanide laced kool aid to attendees.

I don't think that their will be any boxes of books at the KH's. The new Bibles will probably become available for distribution at a later date.
I suspect that we will probably become more aware about details of the new website that was announced already at our 2013 conventions. They told us then that this will becoming available in the new year.
the new in thing among the rank and file is to strive to get to the christian school for married couple.
this appears to substitute the school of gilead.
it's a 2 month long event and after graduation , couples are sent somewhere where the need is great in their own country.
Many will exhaust their savings, thinking that this is a worthy sacrifice. But, eventually, reality sets in.
I have seen many failures in this plan throughout the years. The couples just end up going back home.
