oh, ha, ha. First you could download publications as audio mp3 files. Then they included pdf files and finally epub files, files that are easier for all manner of electronic gadgets. But now they have dropped (apparently) the epub files for the study towers and yearbook and maybe others. Just made me curious is all. Maybe they were seeing the use of electronic gadgets and not the actual mags? Anyone else gives a shyte?

The Watchtower is NOT a false prophet
by The Quiet One inregarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.
but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.
that would clearly have been a mistake.

I am a prophet. And as such I declare that The Quiet One will continue to pontificate in the face of all odds, stuff that makes no sense and will do so without the use of paragraphs.
And since I typed too long and got beat out I must add - it is so. Some browsers insist on an overlapping of paragraphs. None of that seperating of thoughts such as the world does. Must be a jw browser.

It is quite involved and there is a write up somewhere documenting how some who were tobacco farmers really took a hit. Because of the time frame that was imposed on them to get out of the business or face disfellowshipping some took a real financial loss. The same thing happened to some others who had retail stores that sold tobacco products.

Most probably don't remember how they destroyed some families by the way they handled the issue with tobacco farmers when they changed their stand on smoking.

The reference to camping and what about this.
WHAT motivated a tobacco farmer to change not only his occupation but also
his deeply held religious beliefs? How did an alcoholic gain the strength to
change her lifestyle? Read what these people have to say. -

The "Generation." what is the latest New Light Regarding It? CO from Fresno Area Confused Me!
by AvocadoJake inthe co who is covering the central valley, mentioned how easy this concept is to understand.
in his talk, he said many of the friends had made a "big deal, over little.
he used the "titanic analogy, used the space shuttle analogy.

The post by diamondiiz made a lot of sense to me. But they can say/change the generation to whatever they want, and actually must change it in some way because the long held and touted version didn't work. But this does not change the fact that they said that version was given to them through holy spirit and represented god's word to mankind. If they could come out and say: we were wrong with our original explanation. We are sorry but it seems that we were not humbly listening and published other than what our god was trying to tell us. So we now can tell you what the new light is, or rather the old light that we messed up on,. So from this point forward this is what you can and should believe and talk about with your fellow brothers and sisters or face the Consequences (we think you know what we mean)
