i'm gonna play the skeptic today on a topic that is painful for a lot of people on this forum.

my intent is not to stir anything up but to make sure facts are confirmed.

bear in mind, i'm sickened by the wt's role (and the heirarchy down to elders) in child molestation cover-ups.

JWs Aren't Supposed To Give Blood Or Blood By Products To Their Pets

in case of emergency or in their feeding.

yet if animals being given blood of any sort is so wrong, why do animals naturally eat other animals and consume their blood?.

jw's are so silly..

I think, and I am presently looking for the holy wt that discusses it, that the updated new light suggested that if the blood is fractionated or even shaken vigorously first it is now okay to transfuse a pet.

OK = I might have lied a little bit.

I learned it (lieing) at the hall.

I agree transhuman68, but it only makes sense in a witness type way. Even though they would deny these problems exist within they will bring them up. But for those who know better it is obvious they feel they need to browbeat the flock. Remember this info is in their little daily counsel booklet taken from their "own" watchtower.

my jw parents refused to eat food from religious restaurant, they have very good reviews.

i was wondering when you were jw, did you go to any religious restaurant?

In our area I have seen a couple of restaurants that have some food set out with a few idols. Budhist type? We ate there though.

Remember - The daily text is exclusively for jw's. It seems that the examples are quite extreme. Do they really have to counsel members about such activities?

Genuine Christians today need to guard against being unduly influenced by the pleasure-mad spirit of this world. (Eph. 2:2-5) Otherwise, we may be ensnared by "the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one's means of life." (1 John 2:16) Or we may mistakenly believe that yielding to the desires of the flesh will bring refreshment. (Rom. 8:6) For example, some people have turned to drug and alcohol abuse, pornography, extreme sports, or various illicit activities in an effort to excite their senses. The "crafty acts" of Satan are intended to mislead by giving one a perverted sense of refreshment. (Eph. 6:11, ftn.) When we are attuned to Jehovah's regulations, we recognize that any pleasures offered by this world are momentary. (Heb. 11:25) True refreshment, the kind that brings a deep, long-lasting sense of joy and satisfaction, comes from doing our heavenly Father's will. w10 6/15 5:17, 19

So, since this is directed at "genuine christians" does it mean that the examples given are a big problem within their midst, that must be addressed?

Cuz i was to stoopid to research. If I would have I would have found out the truth about the truth. In my defense it was not as easy to find the info 45 years ago as it is now.

the article talks about the obstacles in getting the "millenial dawn" series of books into the hands of "seekers of truth," and how "coleporters" spread the word.. so, why is this important book which evidently carried a message of truth not available on the wt cd rom?
