the thread about the circuit assembly accounts and where the money goes reminded me of one time when we were at bethel.. we were at bethel between 1991 to 1994, there had been some problem in another country and at morning worship they asked all of us bethelites to put in at least one dollar a person to send to the brothers in this problem country.. at the time my husband and i just did not have it.
we only got $90 a person so $180 a couple.
ok i know we had a free place to live but we still had to pay for car gas to the hall our car insurance, air conditioning, shampoo, clothes, etc.

But regarding what Zaddina said: Soooo, what would he have if he'd NEVER left Bethel???
What if . . . . flipper had sucked it up, gone for every promotion/appointment, lied and said that he was annointed, been invited to the governing body . . . Okay that would be a bit of a stretch.

Hey Flipper - See what happens. You show such poor/little appreciation, lose jah's holy spirit and look where you are now. On the outside looking in. And don't pretend that your okay with that. Those still inners that know your sad demeanor since out know exactly where that comes from. Give it up, return and they might welcome you back with open arms eventually. Must do some penance first though.
VoidEater - I understand your comment and how true that we all age, even I am doing it. But it's been a while since I have seen a couple that look quite that decrepid and sad sack looking. I just feel that they have gone overboard in their effort to make a point. Displease jehobar or now a days them (the gb) and this is how you turn out. Old, sad and forlorn. Even today many, maybe even most who live to a ripe old age don't look like that. If they have a measure of health they have a happy demeanor about them.

@DanaBug - remember the water canopy? No sun, no healthy tans, Only white dudes and dudesses. And the more you look at that pic the more things stand out. Don't they look like they are standing their posing for a photograph.
Yes Eve does look witchy. But put yourself in her position as she sits there thinking back on her life. She is thinking: boy have I had it with snakes. First that snake talking in the tree and I like a fool listen. And then that snake of adam's talkin trash. Sometimes I think it was just Adam throwing his voice, but whatever. The end result was stretch marks and one god awful lotta pain gettin that first one out. And adam was just about useless. What am I supposed to do? God didn't tell me this was part of the sex thing. As a matter of fact I don't remember any instruction at all. Just that erection one day. And that wasn't me throwing my voice. I think it was the same as that talking snake in the tree. And it begins, the strained relationship between the sexes.
