  "Are you a progressive thinker"

  this was the theme of a talk at this week's 2nd weekly meeting with the co.. .

  if you are a progressive thinker, so went the reasoning, you will accept all of the adjustments coming from the 'faithful and discreet slave'.. .

  this so hurt my head when wife told me about it; really?.

  Lets say your father was really into fucking goats...... Well you moved away when you found out your dad was a goat fucker just to get away from him. Good for you. Now the authorities set up a sting operation with some really hot goats... your dad fell for it... i mean he really went to town, but when the authorities broke down the hotel door your dad managed tewe barely escape. Now the authorities track YOU down and have YOU in custody and are going to imprison YOU for 20 years because of your dad being a prolific goat fucker.

  Well that isnt right!! You dont like goats.... maybe you fed a few at the petting zoo when you were a kid (do you remember now that you were always losing your dad there???) but you are not into animals, after all you are a respected sheep farmer! It doesnt matter, you have to pay for the sins of your father because of the fucked up system that you live in. Just the way it is. Thats how your god wants it... the sins of the father are payed for by the son.

  Doesnt that sound effed up?? Being a part of a human sacrifice cult that thinks that one human being can sacrifice for the sins of another sounds just as effed up to me.

  Yes, technically all religions are cults. The jw's just go one step further and are a mind control cult.

  From what I read you are part of a human sacrifice cult. You are part of a cult that thinks it is somehow moral for one man to pay for the sins of another. Its not that much better than plain old vanilla cult like organized religion but you are still in a cult.

  This is the exact reason why the wife says the dubs have an excellent marketing department. Just when you think things cant get any wierder you have dubs running around calling themselves progressive thinkers!

  Dilemma

  gorby and his lovely wife had during dinner a chat about watchtower hypocrisy.

  she faded with me since 2007 and shows sometimes affection for the organization.. we talked about the gb and ray franz.. she asked me if she could read my ray franz books.. now i have a dilemma.

  the books gave me a hard time in the '90.. i know the ray franz truth can hurt and shock her so much.

  Why do so many refer to Elders as "window washers"?

  i know the society is against higher education and the pursuit of careers but in my experience the elders in the various congregations i attended had good careers.

  in fact most had their own businesses.

  thinking back of the boe when i was a teenager this is what they had as a career: two were respected carpenters who owned a construction business, one a high school teacher(he was the po), one sold insurance and was a lawyer, one owned a landscaping business and also hired sisters to clean office buildings and other accounts he had, one was retired, and the last was a janitor for the school board.

  I worked for an elder when I was younger.... That elder hired another elder and a few pioneer sisters over the years. He did well for himself and paid a pretty competitive wage. I moved up pretty quickly in a job where a "worldly" employer may not have even hired me because of lack of education.

  Window washer, Real estate agent... call them whatever you want, I am out and they are still stuck in. Freedom is priceless.

  Wait.... I though all women needed to get permission from their husbands to read!!!!! What is this world coming to ! !

  Seriously though...

  gorby..... just a suggestion... Start her off w/ only the first chapter. If she is already semi-awake, I think the first chapter will be extremely comforting to know that he went through the struggle while writing the book, the same as her.

  I would agree with the healing comments.... I have tried to get my mother and some friends who are out but still think "its the closest thing" to the truth.

  You are hammered w/ so much black and white that its good to see in print that you can disagree respectfully and still have love for your god.

  No Refusal Blood Checkpoints!

  in oregon, during the 4th of july weekend, troopers will be conducting checkpoints to see if someone has been drinking.

  if someone refuses a breath test, they will be forced to have their blood extracted from them.. what do you think of this?.

  If an officer sees you driving aotr, pulls you over and then smells alcohol you can still refuse breathalyzer but a warrant can be obtained. In the case of a road block I would consider it every drivers duty to refuse to give a breath sample simply because this is AMERICA. Nothing was witnessed, no probable cause. It amazes me that owi road blocks are legal here
