  i was thinking of starting a topic on thoughts that go through your mind while attending meetings.... right now i am at the meeting and thinking ... we study about jesus's courage to stand by rightness and truth, about him getting in conflict with religious leaders who thought of themselves as experts of the law, jesus understood truth and god differently of them and he had the courage to speak out!.

  so we study this, but after that we draw the concluzion that courage is to go preaching and identify yourself as a witness .... well, this in not what i understand from jesus's courage!.

  NOTHING is worth more than your personal freedom. Until people stop downplaying in their own mind how important this freedom is they are stifling themselves.

  On a side note... I remember someone interviewing R Dawkins and they made a comment about Dawkins being "very upset with god." Dawkins said "upset with god?... that is of course ridiculous" implying its hard to be upset with something that is not real... You could tell the comment went right over the head of his interviewer.

  Searcher.... While I can understand why some choose to fade, you absolutely cannot be 100% honest when fading. When you make the choice to fade you choose to hide a fundamental truth within you to pacify one or more relationships. It is simply not possible to fade and be 100% honest.

  How do stop myself getting too Bitter?

  you know, i always maintained that during this fading process, and while learning ttatt, i would not let myself get "bitter twisted and angry".... but, in all honesty, if i examine myself, i have become quite bitter toward the org, toward the false friends and the gb.. i have become angry as i see the extent of damage i feel being raised in "the truth" has done.... i feel hurt towards the lost opportunities in life etc.... how do i not allow myself to get too swallowed up by such bitterness?.

  i have always been a very happy, positive, selfless person.

  i can put people at ease, i am someone people feel comfortable chatting to.

  Hey stuck...

  Not sure of your exact situation but my opinion is to make a clean break. Just DA and get out of dodge. No relationship is worth losing your personal freedom over. When I woke up I told my mother I would stay in for her sake but I was not going to hide anything. That lasted for about 6 months until I got a knock on the door from two caring elders. I had it out w/ them and formally notified them of my intention to leave.

  If you formally leave you dont have to hide your personal beliefs and you dont have to play any fucked up games w/ people who will ditch you in a moments notice. Personal freedom over ALL else.

  opinion filed.. (signed published) the judgment against defendants on the negligence count is affirmed.

  the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.

  After reading the ruling it is clear that these elders and society lawyers have sold their proverbial souls to the devil. The fact that the punitive portion was reversed means nothing in terms of the society being proven guilty.

  At the end of the day, ANYONE that learns of a child abuser and hides behind a curtain of priest/elder confidentiality is a coward. I simply cannot fathom a grown man learning of a child molester and not doing everything in his power to make it known to persons he has been entrusted to care for. That is without even mentioning reporting the offender to the authorities. I do not know how they live with themselves

  During my time as a fireman I was never required to raise the flag, march in parades or give blood or join the bone marrow registry for that matter. These are just things you do as a brother on the job. If you do not do them you will be (or should be) destroyed in the kitchen. Getting blasted from every direction from 11 Type-A personalities has a way of destroying cognitive dissonance in a man. Although if this blowjob has already filed a federal lawsuit he is a lost cause. Hopefully for the job's sake the men in the house push him out.

  Morpheus... I am not downplaying the potential. They were not there to pull off a violent uprising. They clearly wanted to drink the wine in front of everyone give a 45 second not-so well thought out statement and then self promote as they left the bldg. Could they have done more? Yes but I can only comment on what they actually did which not incidentally was not violent.

  I dont know what you mean by "your training" also teaches you what "danger" really is. CLEARLY these kids did not rise to the level of dangerous. Inappropriate? Sure. Unusual? Yes! Dangerous? Negative k.

  i am not wanting to turn this into a circle jerk but your post on Freedom, Free Speech... was very good. I cannot speak for ninja but I do not think defending the right of these kids to do what they did should imply agreement with what they did. All sorts of assumptions were made about my cranial activity because I/we chose to defend the rights of those kids to go into a public service, make their statement and then leave within minutes.

  Could it have escalated? Sure it could have but it did not. We can only comment on what we saw. They spoke up and left. I at least agree with most of the posters that it is highly unlikely that anything they said was helpful. If one person in that hall googled the name and had a seed of doubt planted than I say it was worth it. If they took out a knife and carved that guys facebook page into the forehead of an infant than I would be the first to stand up and say their actions were egregious, I do have some standards. But again, that did not happen.

  What the hell are you even talking about?? I imagine the religious leaders of the day were none to happy that jc turned over the money tables and decried that action as "disrupting the holy place" That is if that story is even true.

  You are taking this stunt way too seriously for allah's sakes!! You are also making way too many assumptions about my views simply because I defend someone's unorthodox way of lashing out at a high control religion.

  Jesus is my leader about as much as muhammed is.... although at least it is easier to prove that muhammed was actually a real person.
