  "Boys on the loose causing their mother shame...." (said in reference to unruly aka normal-acting kids at the meeting).

  "I really feel bad for those kids because they're going to suffer at Armageddon for their parents' choices."

  At preschool age: "You're making Jehovah sad," "Jehovah doesn't like that," and "That's pagan." (Really.)

  ....No wonder I felt so messed up. Does anyone else have some old goodies to add to the list?

  Theocratic School changes a distraction from the problems?

  i find the timing of the new mid week meeting rather strange.

  we all know jw's love their carrot on the stick, they salivate over speculating what the new releases will be at the convention.

  with all these problems going on, layoffs, child abuse, money issues, building halts etc... what better way to have your average jw ignore it than to completely change up the meeting.

  I find it very interesting that the letter is dated to be read October 4th, which is the anniversary of jwsurvey & Cedars had already announced his "apostate" film will be released this day. I truly believe the GB chose this date as part of a publicity stunt to steal the spotlight.

  My Mom Is Dying

  i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.

  she is on morphine and hanging on.

  she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

  if you were born in, why did you make it "your own"?

  if you became one later, what was your draw and driving force?

  Wow so many 3rd generation born-ins! I guess there was a mass recruiting in our grandparents' time.

  @Dagney funny what you said, I used to think the same, "I'm so glad I was raised in the truth because I'm too much of a skeptic to have ever converted into it from the outside." Ha!

  @mimi I can relate to your sentiments as well. We were talking the other night & my husband said he decreases his anger at JWs from his past by turning mad at himself for buying into it for so long. I said that is wrong, especially for those of us who were regimentally indoctrinated as children: we were VICTIMS.

  But now, we are survivors!

  i always thought it was bullet-proof:.

  "if your doctor directs you to 'abstain from alcohol' would you be ok to have it injected into your veins rather than drink it?
