on saturday, 35 jehovah's witnesses gathered in their kingdom hall near frankfurt and sat over coffee and cake (for whatever reason, maybe pioneer school or some other event).

suddenly a 20-year-old man (according to most sources "not a jw yet, but wanted to become one"; though one source claims that he would have been an auxiliary pioneer) took a knife from the cake buffet and killed a 45-year-old bethelite (maybe a circuit overseer).. today the murderer was killed by a train - supposedly suicide.. .

There are dozens of thousand of white r&f JWs world-wide who would love to serve in Bethell's kitchen! These niggas ain't appreciating the value of the gift bestowed upon them! Only the grand gift of toilet-cleaning is greater than this! Perhaps they should work more, be more humble, do more field service, donate more money and one they they will be worthy enough to deserve the toilet-brush. Thank you, Jay Hoover, for Bethel!

as i was flipping through some magazines in the check out line today, it dawned on me that the wts could very well save itself.. it claims that the watchtower and awake!

magazines are the most widely circulated journals in the world.

so why the hell are they not capitalizing on this popularity by selling advertising space in the magazines?

Why do we call Jehovah by his first name and not our parents?

i owe this question entirely to hadit but i cannot get this thought out of my head.

all i heard growing up was that we have to call god jehovah because they are many god's, this way jehovah knows we are trying to speak to him.

that is just one of many reasons the fds and wt say to why we much call him jehovah.

Technically speaking, we don't know if Jesus used "Jehovah" when praying to his Father. What we know for sure is he used "father", "God", "ava" (daddy). And even if he used "Jehovah" from time to time, it is reasonable to assume he didn't used this name in every one of his prayers.

i thought of this while working on my book project, and i realized i don't have a good answer.

why is the jw leadership so intent on conformity in all areas of everyone's lives?

lots of things they regulate have no religious significance.

The JWs are different cases of individual failure. A failed individual wants everyone to be a failure like him. They are a a group of people who need a "parental" guidance in all aspects of their lives. They lack initiative and freedom of thinking. They resemble in many ways with communist nations.
