The stupid a....holes! I would piss on a Quran right in the middle of Kabul if I'd be interested in shifting the world opinion towards a full armed conflict against the Arabian world, because I would be sure about a stupid over-reaction. We are living in a new age of Crusades, the Oil Crusades. They were provoked and they acted according to their ignorant minds, calling for another whoop-ass. Remember 1989? The Domino principle? It is happening again.

State your "epiphany moment " for leaving the WT
by caliber ini have found some powerful reinforcements when people have stated their " epiphany moment "... please share some.. my turning pointing began when i was badly hurt by a person i had always viewed as a literal brother.
i realized that if his.
love was conditional.... if it was the case with him , then how about those i had less affection for and trust in ?.

I had more that one epiphany. One of them was the reading of those 2 brochures about life and how it appeared, through Evolution or through Creation. I'm no stranger to the field of biology and they could not bull...it me. Then I realized all the Christian teachings are s...t. Another epiphany was when I once read my blood directive, that infamous little paper. I asked myself "if you would have a car accident, would you be willing to refuse blood and die?" and I answered "Hell, no, where was I thinking these years?!".

looky looky - A 'real' J-dub forum! (are they becoming normal???)
by Reality79 inso did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?
because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.
i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.

Anyone Here With an "Earthly Hope"?
by Quendi insince the memorial is a little more than two weeks away, i thought i would raise this question, particularly for those of us who have left the organization.
do you have what the wts calls the "earthly hope"?
i know many ex-jws have renounced religion altogether and don't believe in any of these things.

I already purchased an entire countryside meadow with wild daffodils on it and I intend to feed their bulbs after I die. I feel just like a pharaoh...I will rot in peace for eternity.

Yea, VM, but Jesus was God in the flesh. If he created the Universe, he should have left some polynomial functions somewhere in the Gospels. Or at least a simple matrix operation. If he was such a great prophet and could see the future, why the f...k did he not see some breakthrough in Math or Physics? The world would've been much better if we knew Newton's universal law of attraction with 1300 years in advance! Every loonie chants "how great is Jesus", but who knows who were Pitagoras, Euclid, Archimedes, Cantor, Pascal, Brache, Newton, Russel, Plank? If you mention the name "Sharaf al Din al Tusi", almost anyone will think it's an Al Qaeda member. You could be arrested for that!

28/32. I don't know what was the great awakening. To me it seems the US are still sleeping. Indonesians are mostly Muslims? I also missed 2 questions about the Mormons. Nothing important.

I bet Jesus was unable to work with matrixes and determinants when he was a kid.

Are atheists less imaginative about the unknown?
by sabastious inalmost every atheist i have ever come across i can get along with well.
i love to debate and talk about the world around us and they seem to as well, but i feel like i get a lot of "eye rolls" from the atheists i speak to.. it's ironic that i am six feet six inches tall because i would describe myself as a man with his head in the clouds.
it's up there most of the time and i feel at home when thinking of the future.

The whole paradigm is wrong. We are not less imaginative than a believer. We are less inclined to "have faith". We are less gullible. I can imagine quite a lot about how the Universe was made. But I don't live my entire life according to the fruits of mine or someone else's imagination.
Maybe there are much more advanced civilizations in the Universe than us. Perhaps advanced enough to bend the very structure of the Universe itself. Compared to us, these civilizations are gods. If a chicken could think, she would probably be amazed of our scientific progress and consider us to be gods. But until seen evidence of their existance, these "gods" do not exist. We are all limited by our senses, not just atheists. In any case, it is clear to me that the God of the Bible is nothing but fiction. A fairytale character.

This guy looks a little like Robert Englund! Imagine him with an iron claw on his hand and with an old hat on his head: "Freddy has something for Jeeezusss!".
