  looky looky - A 'real' J-dub forum! (are they becoming normal???)

  so did the 'da society' give these dub internet savvies permission to start a forum?

  because last i checked, the ole boys in their oversized brooklyn bunker didn't want their members on the internet unless it was to view their own official websites.

  i thought maybe it was an apostate forum until i read their long winded, typically condescending jdub style membership guidelines:.

  whats the science on leg warmers?

  why is that i can see a woman with socks on and it does absolutely nothing for me, but i see leg warmers, and i'm intrigued?.

  Are JWs the worst restaurant customers?

  (a little background info before i ask my question...).

  my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!

  she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

  Reading all this makes me just love my cultural environment so much more. Service and all taxes statutory included in price and tipping is truly voluntary and not automatically expected. On the other hand I'm in trouble in other parts of the world.

  But staying in subject, have been asked even here sometimes by brothers and sisters why I'm tipping (because the food was great or service outstanding!), they claim they would not do it even in their wildest dreams. However these are minority, thankfully. In overall I think it would be kind to make pre-booking for groups of over 6-7 persons.

  our public talk and wt study is on saturdays.

  i was informed by an elder that i shouldn't leave right away after the meeting.. immediately i had a sinking feeling in my stomach.

  but not as bad as i would have felt about it months ago.

  I can already see the headlines. "See what happens to those that start studying, aren't those reminders we get about education from slave class just on spot. See what happened to Nobleheart, pioneer and all...."

  In the long run you must do the thing you feel is right. If going in steps with all related announcements (ending pioneering, marking speech, etc. etc.) is not your style, then there is not many options left, being involved in something DFable (quick confession/non repenting maybe) or announcing your disbelief in some recordable way. In whichever case there will be speech about you, without names mentioned, sooner or later.

  across the board,(jw,s,baptist, catholic etc.

  Yes they are, funny enough this has been even confirmed in some countries legislation. For example in my lilliput country's legislation the mother's faith is designing what religious group the child is considered belonging to, before coming mature enough to decide thing on their own. Mother and father can ofcourse agree mutually about this, but before certain age mother can unilaterally decide the religious nomination for her child, without father's concent.

  From JW organisation point of view in these days, my observation is, that women are in great majority. When they are married, they often act as the glue that keeps the man operational in organisation. This was the case for me also for decades, on my own I would have gone bad for years ago. My educated guess is that this applies to many other religious movements too.

  No Independent Thinking?

  correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i just realized another wt contradiction.

  i read a critical analysis of the origin of life and was life created brochures called "weighed and found wanting" (which is exellent by the way and recommend it, it's here somewhere).

  as i read along on the brochures i finally noticed how the society makes constant appeals to your own common sense and intuition.

  You see, these piece of works were not designed to inner circle but as tools to convince outsiders. Proportionally how many times book studies move on based on reading through the printed word compared to generating debate/discussion around the theme of the day? Even though these books have been studied on book studies the concept have been based on the knowledge that more or less all people allready believe in stuff, making these questions rethorical and of academic worth only. On the other hand how many outsiders are aware that independent thinking and reasoning are, if not totally banned at least partially discouraged within organisation.

  Whatever happened to concept of making the thruth your own?

  so i was posting on the forum and 2 neatly dressed jws came.

  they didnt know who i was so i opened the door.... .

  they started with their regular fear inspiring statements that god will destroy the "world", so i asked if he was gonna destroy me..... and thats where the fun started.

  Continuation to AnonJW notes

  What seems to have happened couple of last years that high magnitude quakes are slightly more common than in general. But in overall the quaker figures are somewhat constant. higher magnitude will automatically mean more forces and energy in action, exponentially unfortunatelly.

  New Light. Is it new truth or simply new understanding on the underlying truth?

  As I understood it during my active years the reasoning was following

  1. There is an absolute truth, at this time it is not completelly revealed to us, we could not handle it.

  2. The existing light is the only one people need to follow, not trying to promote new thoughts and quicken the path of new light, because

  3. The person's true nature and Godly behavior is only measured in how accurate this person will obey the existing light as presented by the slave class

  So in essence it would not matter if our understanding or what we believe today looks like this and would be understood in totally opposite way tomorrow, as the only thing that really matters is following the current understanding presented by slave class. People following or referring to old understanding or people speculating new understanding (that very well might become the new light later) have kind of fallen from the correct path as they are not exactly following what current light is about.

  The conclusion of all this is that what was believed (understood) at one point of time do not really matter or should bother us, as the real truth will not be revealed until in the very last possible point of time, maybe even after the big A with the new scripts.
