Did your spirituality improve after confessing to wrongdoing?
by jwfacts ini was reading this thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/220730/1/had-my-jc-today-oh-sugar, and morbidzbaby mentioned their husband confessed to uncleaness because he did not feel he was getting blessed by jehovah.
however, blessings did not increase after the confession.. it made me wonder about the whole idea of confessing so that you do not loose jehovah's blessing.
when i was in bethel i confessed about a couple of menial things.

Am I still an Ex JW?
by darthfader ini was thinking the other day about being an ex jehovahs witness... will i always be an ex jw?
will i know when im no longer an ex jw?
what can i do to become less of an ex jw and more of a normal person (whatever that is)... for me, being a jw was a little like a cross between the firm and hotel california where i feel like, at any point, one of the friends will spot me and either accost me or report me to the elders.

Maybe you can call yourself JW alumni if that feels more appropriate?

A thought for those with believing partners.....
by snare&racket inwhen i was a single male jw i knew between age 22-25 that i had major concerns with the religion.
this had a big effect on my interaction with opp sex in the org.
whenever i got close to someone i would consider the inevitable time that i would have to face my concerns.

I am sorry that I did not aired my personal issues at the time of courtship. I now have my wife trapped with non-active witness, I think our marriage is fine but I'm sorry that she has to endure this.

ok jw teaching aside, can you see a time coming when religon will cease to exist?
by highdose inpossibly this could happen in a dramatic sudden way or a slow burn but can you see the human race progressing to the point were they no longer need to belive in these myths and legends?.

I don't think so. We are always attached to something that gives us if not directly religious, similar feelings. It could be new messias you choose to follow, it could be that you follow your favourite band with religious mindset, or it could be that you are willing to do whatever for gods in your favourite sports team.

When you were active, did you feel you would survive Armageddon?
by Band on the Run ini am curious about this issue.
personally, i never felt i would be good enough for a split second.
one would think that knowing you can not be good enough to survive would it make it easier to leave the witnesses and live for the present.

No, not really. Since early teens it was kind of clear to me that I was not good (clean and spriritual) enough to enter the new world order. It didn't stop me from participating in various theocratic activities, I thought this was a good way to walk anyway even when I won't make it through. Now if A would come it would not really matter to me, as I do not want to enter paradise as it is described.

If You Have Had the CO or DO Stay With You...
by A question infor those of you who have had the co/do stay with you for the week:.
how was the experience?.
how did they spend their free time?

Yes, CO couple multiple times. Mostly while we were travelling elsewhere during CO visit week (how on earth our prearranged trips always collided with CO visit that was arranged on busiest vacation period?). We had good experience with them, home was always tidy after they left, maybe even tidier than originally. There was always some kind of token of appreciation, flowers or card.
Once we happened to be present while they were staying with us. Ofcourse they did their routines and that way were very much away. But during dinner and evening we had interesting discussions, I was not the exemplary brother at all, but I did not felt like there was pushing or intimidation. It was just interesting discussion with challenging viewpoints coming from both sides. Wives spent their time again mostly together sipping wine and watching TV. Both the CO and his wife took time each day around 20-25 minutes to read magazines and discussing them together in their room and day before public speech CO rehearsed it for a while, even he had held it already multiple time. Very thorough in that sense. Food we offered was always well received and appreciated, breakfasts we asked them to arrange themselves from existing ingredients as we were working and kids went to school (this visit wasn't during the vacation period). I must say that this visit in our house for me was far more refreshing than the program of CO visit itself. I really have fond memories of that visit.

What comes to the original question, I have not been chased in any manner. On the other hand I made it clear for them very openly that they will not see me in any congregation activity.
