i have a few questions regarding moving and changing congs.
i would love to hear from former elders.. .
my wife and i will be moving soon, and as i described in an earlier post we will be using the move as an opportunity to fade.
Could someone please explain why there would be need to visit the "new" congregation. What would happen if you ask your current secretary send your cards to some congregation anywhere in the world and just never appear there. Would they send the cards back to "old" congregation after a while?

a big part of every memorial i ever went to was given to drumming it home that unless you were anoited you couldn't partake.
and everyone would be watching the "strangers" as their turn came, ripples of horror would go round the congregation if they dared to nibble or sip(!).
... but seriously what is the problem?
I can't refer it to anywhere in Bible, most probably there is no such relation. But as I understood the severity of this issue in JW context was based on the idea that partaking is lead by the understanding of partakers position given by the holy spirit. Any other person touching those emblems would be in risk of offending the holy spirit as this understanding of their anointed status was not given. The bad and dangerous thing here was actually the fact that as holy spirit is not a person, it cannot forgive you in any possible manner, thus potentially subjecting any unworthy partaker to already been irrevocably judged.
This is more or less the lesson I was given.

None personally, but my family have been "blessed" with at least four different visits around this theme in last two days by different persons in congo, talk about coordination. I was able to hear what happened in two latest visits, these friends were not let in so they stood by the door. They talked mostly about weather and wind, just slipping as good-bye "see you tomorrow in memorial" kind of thing. This must be funny coinsidence as during last half year there have been 3-4 contacts in overall with some sort of encouragement to my family and now suddenly in two days the very same amount.
I guess my family is heading to memorial, I can't.

hi everyone, according to some dubs, the year on year increases the annointed is attributal to annointed ones in countrys previously not able to register, for example in former ussr,since the iron curtain came down in circa 1990, i would like to have information regarding the numbers from around this time and onwards, and if you have any comments on these assertions from the dubs, i would appreciate them, regards .
Obviously it took 16 years for anointed in Warsaw pact to wake up and realise their true status.

now that we are all thinking about jw memorial - i was just remembering all the silly superstitions the jws have put around this - their only holiday.
as far as i can tell, none of these are actually biblical:.
1) - it must be held only once per year.. 2) - it must be held on "nisan 14".. 3) - it must be held after sundown.. 4) - the bread must be unleavened.. 5) - the wine must be plain (not fortified) red wine.
We didn't had the mandatory touching part, for short rows plate/glass servant could just reach with plate in front of attendants and they could then nod to show that they have been given the possibility. same for the last cart row and even with the speaker/servant up and down ceremony. The plate and glass was just put in front of you and the correct reaction was not to touch it but nod in kind of an acceptance/recognition.
So there is local variation obviously here.
One interesting detail, the wine used here in most of the memorial locations is the very same wine our main church is using for their communions. It is clearly stated in speech that the wine is commercially produced.
