Just to get the record straight about the financial support for pioneers. Wasn't it so that the pioneers were allowed to buy the literature for the half of the face value and then sell it for full price for door-openers? At least in those day I was taking care of the literature desk we sold the books and magazines cheaper to them. But I have no idea if they were allowed to keep the difference or expected to donate it for the "good sake".

i have been accused recently of "trying to direct my own step" because of my questioning the org and refusing to come back to the "truth" for the past 6 years.
i personally still believe in god, i just doubt that he is behind the jw org, that's all.
why is that so hard for jw's to understand?
Well, I know you would like to refer to Acts 17:11 about the example of the Beroeans, but there lies a huge problem. You see, they settled the issue then and for whole eternity, they found it to be truth, why would you need to investigate it any further (pun intended).

i was reading in another forum, that a letter to the elders instructed them to speak to anybody who persists in wearing tight pants.
if changes don't happen then the instructions are to disqualify him from being a publisher but it won't be announced to the congregation.
i am am curious to see if this letter will surface.

So according to this excerpt from CO visit material, wearing thight pants or skirt is a free-pass to stay in congregation, without being announced as wrong-doer and with no possibility to share in ministry. Why aren't doubtfull or fading friends using this gateway in greater extent? Benefit of no service, no answering, no preparing and still free access to society of friends. Kind of being disfellowshipped but still part of the congregation.

so how many are not going to the regional convention this year?
it will be my first year not attending as part of my fade.. i remember going for all of my childhood into adult hood, participating in stage parts even.. however, last assembly i was already mentally checked out.
i remember looking around and seeing all of people bobbing & nodding at the program talks that had been previously repeated time and time again.. almost seemed like hypnosis.. i also had a hard time with the fact that we're all supposed to be "friends" and everyone had always seemed to be so judgmental.. especially at conventions & assemblies.. things like who had the best outfit for the days, who looked the prettiest, who can snag the single ms brother.. who took the most spiritual food out of the program, how many times can you tally mark jehovah's name.
This year I feel kind of tempted going. There will be international convention at the very same venue where I was baptised for many, many, many and even more many years ago in an international convention. But after some seconds of consideration I laugh at myself and stop daydreaming.

i am also interested in what educational choices people have made either while fading or while completely out.

2 i have gone to many churches and volunteered.. 3 i shredded all my jw books and magazines out in the woods.. 4 had the mormon elders over and studied with them.. 5 tried pot (its legal here).
6 open carry my fire arm every where (legal here also).

- I do not attend the meetings, conventions or memorials
- I am not preaching the good News
- I do not support my spouse in JW activities (but I don't resist them either)
- I have less qualms

i have known all of them over the last 15 years, talked at length with them, and knew what their wishes were, the copyright holder and spouse spent even more time with them socially and helping them set up their arrangements for when ray and cynthia passed.
i don't believe that anyone else on this board or others was a confidant.
there is no need to prove it to anyone but the copyright office which is satisfied with this.
From Copyright Point of view this is quite straight forward, CoC has copyright protection 70 years following Rays death. If there is no Family alive that could have inherited the rights, then it is in hands of some copyright organisation. Publisher might also have bought the full rights to this literature work at some point, their right would be exactly the same, 70 years from Rays death. The 70 year period starts from 1st of January 2011.
