  Who is supposed to do the "Separating Work" for the new magazines?

  so, there is a bit of a fight going on in our hall between our pioneer sisters and our magazine servant.

  since the new magazines are boxed with two issues together, there is a bit of work to be done separating them.

  our magazine servant stacked them on the counter as usual, right out of the box.

  Annual Meeting Report 2012

  before going to work, i just checked on jw.org if the annual meeting report with the "new light" now is published in other languages too.

  nothing, only on the english site.

  not even in spanish.

  Other languages may feel left out to know that there are now official English notes on the Annual Meeting.

  But are they expecting to?

  In past times, the only notes that came out of one were the unofficial written down notes from someone you knew who was there, or a friend of a friend of a friend.

  TTATT acronym

  i think it's about time this get updated so more folks know the other meaning of t.t.a.t.t.

  ttatt is an acronym for "the thing around the thing.".

  this term, first known to be used by neal thomison around 1998, refers to the meta issues which surround the topic in question.. in designing software, creating art or negotiating contracts often the context and implications of the topic on the history and interrelationships at play is often as significant, if not more significant, that the content of the topic itself.. .

  Celebrating Christmas?????

  i am just curious, and not judging.

  if you are a christian and you know that december 25th is not jesus' birthday, and may have pagan roots, then why celebrate it?

  i was raised a dub as most of you know, and have learned the ttatt so i know how wrong they are about a lot.

  Growing up "in the world" and being a part of Christmas celebrations until my Adult life, I stopped celebrating it long before I joined the WTB&TS.

  It started with the lie that parents tell their kids about Santa Claus.

  Then evolved into adolescence in knowing that was untrue. Sprinkle in a little Christ into it to keep the ship going during this time

  Then I learned that Christ was not born on the day.

  Later learning it was probably rooted other traditions.

  Then I learned about spending money you don't have under compulsion just because it was a day that people "got together" on.

  Then I finally had it with the Church in college. I was by then learning about the Council of Nicea, the questionable authority of the teachings of Paul, and I generally despised the hypocritical nature of some churchgoers.

  Years passed by and the WTB&TS seemed to be thinking strait to me because they DO NOT celebrate it, and I got baptised and became a company man for a time and times...

  The fact that so many different types of people, in many types of religions.. or not, could share and celebrate Christmas in good faith, proved to me that it was in the same class as a broad road talked about in Matt 7:13

  13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it;

  So, no I will never go back to celebrating it. I didn't miss it going in, while I was in and now while unassociated with the (b)org. I was already brought up "in the world", so I sympathize with those who are out but now want to experience different things.

  DATA-DOG, you know that for many people, this time of year is depressing, especially those who have heavy deaths on their minds. I feel more powerful when I am not involved in the hoopla. My pockets are fatter. I also feel more secure that I am aware of robbers, con artists, con stores, pocket thieves, and won't be crushed like so many stories you see on the news because a family's christmas gifts got stolen - as if that is a bigger tragedy because it is Christmas. It's the "Season for Stealing" is what a wise man told me.

  Of the bill, Ssempa has stated the following: "Some people have asked about the rationale of a death penalty mentioned in the Bill. There has been a lot of misinformation about this matter with headlines such as: “Gays face death penalty in Uganda”. These headlines are deliberately misleading. This penalty applies only in special cases termed 'aggravated homosexuality', which include, those convicted of unlawful homosexual rape of a child or handicapped invalid; This is a conviction of paedophilles! As highlighted in the problem of 'virgin rape cures HIV/AIDS' the offender can be a person living with HIV; a parent or guardian of the victim where there is abuse of authority! Finally is the use of drugs to stupefy the child so that they can rape them!. Clearly, the intent of this penalty is to protect weaker members of society from being victimized. Please note that for over 15 years Uganda has had the same penalty for persons who have carnal knowledge of minors heterosexually, mainly to protect against sexual abuse of girls by men. This time, this provision intends to provide equal protection of boys, among others." [13]

  Jehovah`s Witnesses have always declared themselves as fearless proclaimers of Gods truths .....Then why....?

  then why are they so silent , in comparison with the roman catholic church of christendom , who they have criticised time and time again in their 100+ years of existance , their is very little, if nothing at all about the other two faiths with a common background .

  namely islam and it`s various sects , and judaism , with it`s various sects .. how often, if at all, has the watchtower done an expose of islam, and it`s many sects , using the quran/bible proving the prophet mohammed is a false prophet .could it be they are afraid of the backlash it would unleash ?

  how fearless are they really ?.

  They do this under their breath but via two cut and dry beliefs.

  Anything that is not Christian is "False Religion"

  Any so-called Christianity that is not WTB&TS based is labeled Cristendom to distance it from WTB&TS and is the same as "False Religion"

  Ergo, any non-WTB&TS religion is "false religion". In a funny twist, the WTB&TS religion is closer to both Islam and Judaism than they are followers of Christ.
