I wish I had the opportunity, when I was well reported on, to have said f--k the GB out loud just to see everyone's reaction.

why do i get nasty looks when i dismiss or don't care who is the GB?
by ?me? ini saw a bunch of pics on ig that featured just about every gb member "humbling " themselves to be the star in a pic with local brothers and sisters.
just fellow servants or domestics.
shouldn't they decline taking celebrity pics with the local r&f?

Many times, religious ones are "tolerant" of the dumb and disabled. If you believe that everyone is able to use logic and reason, can an ultimate conclusion be held that these types of people should be destroyed too? It would be reasonable to assume that such ones would be at the least a burden on their families, and at worst stir up trouble among logical society.

JW Prayer vs. Christian Prayer
by Faithful Witness inwe studied for a few years with the jw's.
the public prayers were often an endurance test, while holding exhausted babies.
to be honest, i have forgotten the jist of most of their prayers.

Interesting that you make a distinction between the two groups but choose to call your non-JW friends Christians. Do you think they follow the teachings of Christ more? "I will pray for you" is a reaction and has as much sincerity as "bless you" after a sneeze, especially as many don't even know the origin of saying that.

I like the thread title. Just list the partakers instead of worrying about the "yearbook" which I couldn't care less about except for the stats.

Is there Racial harmony among the JWs?
by Amazing inwhen i joined the jws, racial issues were not really discussed much, other than some mention in the material given to me during my bible study in the "truth" book.
our kingdom hall had only one dark skinned individual, who is portguese, and one of the anointed.
i believe that he is now deceased.

Any seperation that I've seen exist does so at cultural as well as social lines. Trendy click, older click, trendy black and white click, older black and white click.... Of all the things they get wrong, I never felt the JW to be out of racial harmony.

Why would a supremely powerful and wise being regard faith as a virtue?
by Island Man inif i were the all-powerful creator of all the universe it would be a very easy thing to prove my existence, requirements and will in an indisputable and unambiguous way.
everyone would know of my existence and requirements without them having to put forth effort to believe based on limited, ambiguous evidence that is highly subject to interpretation.
i would regard faith as a harmful trait that makes one vulnerable to being deceived.

One unsolved problem is the direct contact the different Gods of the bible had with human past. It would seem to be limited now. So how do you communicate with your creation the proof of your existence and regulations if there is a rule or limit to interaction? Another wrinkle is if your creation somehow evolved over time.

"I'm thinking of getting reinstated just so I can get my family back."
by Julia Orwell inthis was just said to me by a friend who was disfellowshipped just over 2 years ago.
she just had a miscarriage, and her partner dumped her rather than supported her through this process.
she told her jw parents, and they refuse to even call her or offer her any emotional support.

It is unfortunate, but I would NOT recommend that she go to a church. There they will say things like God needed another angel, or God knows best, or something equally patronizing. I'm not saying all would, but even one the unbridaled tounges would not be welcome in my book.

shock horror! WITNESSING ATTIRE NOW CONDONES OPEN-NECK SHIRTS FOR MALES!
by steve2 ingo to jw.org right now friends and you will see a young male jw witnessing in a rural setting with publication in hand and - take careful note - wearing a crisply-white open-neck shirt.
bring out the carnival, light the lights: the organ ization is kicking itself into an ongoing casualization of its rank and file.. in the 1960s through 1980s i know brothers who dared to attire themselves sans ties who were reprimanded or worse.

Glaring Mistake In RNWT And Todays WT
by piztjw intodays' wt had this sentence in one of the paragraphs....we know this because each of their individual names are indelibly written upon the 12 foundation stones of the heavenly new jerusalem.rev.
21:14.. the cross reference lists judas iscariot as one of the twelve.
so with one breath they have said judas was cursed as jesus betrayer, and yet in their rnwt they still cross reference him in the list of the twelve named foundation stones of nj.

What has always been interesting to me is that the yes, there is a replacement for Judas by scripture, but the WT makes its own claims as to who is already judged for their second death as if they looked upon the book of life already.
Adam and Eve - I hear this a lot from ones as if its the absolute truth from Jehovah
Judas - Even though he was not faithful, we know nothing of his lafter after betrayal and if he repented. Afterall, he did God's will
Saul?
Ananias?

"He has also taught us about the person it represents." I come back after months of hiatus and am greeted with new changes. Ok, am I missing something or does this not conflict with John 4:24 etc that state God is a spirit? There is the grey watchtower spirit-person definition, so I wonder if this is to align more of that idea with all of ther texts.
